What is your favourite Christmas Decoration?

Just that really!
Mine is older than the hills and used to belong to my great grandmother the "fairy" that goes on top of my DMs Christmas tree she is made mainly of feathers and has ad several transplants to keep her looking fluffy over the years! I was not aloud to touch her till I was in my mid teens as she is so fragile!

I don't have DC yet so maybe something will usurp the fairy when I get lovely handmade creations from any sprogs I may have!

I have my nans fairy that dates to about 1930 and it has a paper skirt. she is too fragile to use now and if we are honest quite ugly for a fairy but she lives in a box in the attic now. I love to look at her when I go up but cant get her out anymore.
My favorite one at the moment is a glass heart bauble from waitrose it opens like a trinket box and i have put in a piece of dried mistletoe from my first Christmas with my OH. we will kiss underneath it every year while it lasts.
My son was given a bauble with his name on it on his first Christmas and it is the rule that only he can put it on and the tree isn't done until he has placed it on there.
I also love my marquee lights that spell out noel. we have only had it a year though.

I have one of those singing parachuting Santas that flies up and down the hall singing 'Here Come's Santa Claus'. I love him.

My children would love the parachuting Santa! I've given up trying to keep it all tasteful after we were won a singing Santa, that also wiggled his hips and goes on for about five minutes with no off button, on a raffle.

I love the twinkly lights. I have a huge glass vase that I fill with white lights that looks pretty.

Not really thinking about Christmas yet though!

Awh that is so lovely insan1ty my mum still has a skiing pinecone Father Christmas I made in my first year at school, I think he is a monstrosity buy my mum really loves it and he gets pride of place on the tree every year!

I have a silver filigree type fairy....she's plastic, and sort of standing in a choir boy pose with a tiny red candle.

I bought her from a closing down sale in a funny little gift shop in Bristol....she actually wasn't for sale, she was a window decoration, but the lady let me have her for my tree as I promised to look after her. It would have been our first Christmas tree. I also still have a good few John Lewis glass baubles that I bought over the first couple of years were were together

I love my tree!

I made christmas trees hangings for my children with their names on in cross stitch and put them in little hoops when they were small.They are all grown up now and one married but I still give them pride of place on the tree. This year I am so excited because we are adopting another little one and I get to do it again. Lovely

Awh that is so lovely flapjack I am currently in the process of finishing embroidering a tablecloth with a christmassy woodland scene when it is done I think it will take second place next to great grandma's fairy. it has only taken me 3 years to get it done

I have a little red book that is filled with Christmas hymns. It has gold trimming and has a traditional looking Father Christmas on the front. My granny gave it to my mom and now I have it, I love it 😍

I have ones that are clear glass (bauble) with gold glitter on and red tartan ribbon around them. They're nothing special to look at but they were on the tree when I was little (she had 12 at one pointy and my mam has passed a couple on to both me and my sis. I love looking at them and remembering the exited Christmas feeling Smile

Me and DH now have a collection of decs from our holidays so it would be hard to pick a favourite, although I do have a soft spot for the first Harrods one DH bought me the first Christmas we could afford nice decorations.

Oh and my parents have a Christmas card made of card, tissue paper and glue from my sister where she mispelled Christmas (krismas Grin) and a Santa that I cut into pieces, decorated and put back together (with his legs on the backwards) that come out every year (I am 31, Dsis is 28!) Grin

Some glass birds I got from the RSPB a few years and. I love birds and these are beautiful. They still sell them but the quality isn't as good as my original ones.

I also have some proper glass baubles from m&S that I love but nothing massively historic or significant.

Not me but the dc each choose a new decoration each year. When they leave home they get to take a box with their decorations and I get to colour co-ordinate the tree . I love seeing the old favourites coming out and the development of their taste in decorations. They are all loved but some we now love knowing that they are at the back of the tree and we don't have to see them every day Xmas Grin.

A stocking that I made for ds -amazed how well it turned out! Dc2 due soon, so need to get making another one! And I have lovely new wood burner this year with big oak mantel to hang them from! Also just outed self massively!

I love all my decorations.... One of my new faves is a Lalique piece with a snowflake on. My Mum bought it for me from her holiday so was given to me middle of January after all my decs were down...I had to put it up in the window and thought it would look nice with some others until I saw the price.

My other favourite is a 99p bell I bought on our first Christmas in 1986..

DS also has a lovely Fabric sleigh with Winnie, Tigger, etc...it dances and sings Jingle Bells...DS and I love it

I have a little tin ornament that I used to think was a Santa, but on close inspection turned out to be a little Confuscious type Chinaman, with a long beard. It is always the first decoration to go on to the tree and is about 60 years old .

I have a beautiful ceramic Christmas tree with lovely little decorations on it. I absolutely love it and anyone who has seen it comments on it. It cost £30 at the time which seemed very extravagant at the but I've never been able to find another one

Oooh I love all of these!
I just got back from York with DP for our 5 year anniversary - they have a christmas shop and my "souvenir" is glass Father Christmas riding a stag bauble, I think he will become a new fave of mine soppy Xmas Smile
