What non-chocolate advent calendars are there?

DH and DS are both happy with normal chocolate advent calendars but I haven't bothered with one for me the past couple of years as the chocolate tastes funny (I'm a fussy bugger when it comes to chocolate - Easter egg chocolate also often tastes odd, I think it may be what they do to it to shape it). But I feel left out! Envy

So what other advent calendars are there? I know some of the cosmetics companies make them but I'm not into make-up. What are my other options? Maybe even just a really good quality chocolate one?

M&S do a Swiss chocolate one for about £20 that is fantastic!
Otherwise, prestat or hotel chocolat are good and I've bought a lindor one in the past that was fabulous.

Non food wise: ciate, selfridges, jo Malone, benefit and top shop have good ones

duskonthelawn your village one sounds lovely.

DD had a Smiggle one last year which I thought was good value for what you got behind the doors. And DS liked it so much he has asked for that one over his usual Lego one this year.

I usually get a picture one from Libertys - they have a lovely collection every year.

I buy proper old fashioned glittery ones with traditional scenes. No choc or gifts. Churches are good places to get them.

Oh no - Smiggle do an advent calendar? I'll have to get it, I'm on another thread at the moment about Smiggle in schools ...

Cotswold - Grin

I think DD will forgo the usual Lego if there is a chance of a scented pencil/eraser in it for her Guitargirl, while I dream of the Liberty one (fab store to wander around, can barely afford to buy anything except soap - and that was for DD too Grin )

Phoenix Cards do some gorgeous advent calendars with just, you know, pictures in.
