Any suggestions? I have to buy a present for a one year old and a present for a two year old for christmas. Only a few years since my kids were this game but I can't remember what they liked when! They are my godchildren - happy to spend up to about £30 but also happy to spend much less, but am keen to get a toy or something to play with rather than something helpful! What did your kids like best at these two ages? I remember my daughter loving Tomy eggs and Brio transit aged 1 and also a toy cake that velcroed together.

Wicked Uncle website is good for ideas (but check prices on Amazon as often cheaper)

The brio daschund is amazing and loved by my kids (1 and 4) - it also looks pricier than it is.

For the 2yo I'd get a great remote control car I've got which has super basic controls. Will get links
.....

Toy tea set would be good for the 2 year old.

I have a one and two year old they love the scuttlebug. Duplo. Train set and magnet trains. Books - lift the flap and the classic hungry caterpillar etc.

Any of the IKEA toys.

The little tykes sandpit is the favourite though

My dd is 20 mos and she loves the leapfrog learn and groove - £9.50 on Amazon - she can turn it on and off and simple buttons, one of her favourite toys for a good while now and big sister likes it too

The Happyland range from the Early Learning Centre is great at this age.

Yes to Happyland. The larger sets (like the zoo) are best in my opinion. ELC often have them on offer.

I would get schleich play animals/ figures. They are pricier than others but great quality. Mine play with still at almost 7 years. And can be added to over the years by various people. They can used indoors, outdoors and in the bath
