My two (7 and 5) are engrossed in Crayola Colour Explosion books. They are great. Black coated paper with special pens than make images appear in bright colours.

DD also loves her Magic Trick set and DS Lite(obv! - thought she was going to faint as I had told her they were FAR too expensive and she would no way be getting one!).

DS loved his dinosaurs best.

OP posts:
jampots · 26/12/2006 11:53

dd loved her ipod most

ds loved his imperial star destroyer

JackieNoHoHo · 26/12/2006 11:57

DD (6) Desk (from Argos, still not assembled - have to clear out her bedroom before we can do that). She also loved her books (Rainbow Magic).
DS (3) Sportacus dressing up outfit (even wore the hat while having his after dinner nap yesterday ) and his big set of various farm vehicles.

foxinsocks · 26/12/2006 11:58

ds (5) wooden cricket set and football table

cheeryface · 26/12/2006 12:00

2nervesnapartridgeinapeartree · 26/12/2006 12:10

DD Nintendo DS pink and Little Mermaid game, she has to sing and blow bubbles and all sorts to play.

DS Noddy track and car set.

Peace reigns at 2nervestowers.

(for 5 mins at least).

Earlybird · 26/12/2006 12:13

What is a ds Lite? Seen it mentioned here a few times, and have no idea...

oxocube · 26/12/2006 12:20

earlybird, its a little computer made by Nintendo which is hand-held and comes in 3 colours. You can buy lots of different games for it, just like the playstation. Very popular as its so portable. (Not cheap though at 100 quid a shot, then the games on top!)

Heathcliffscathy · 26/12/2006 12:23

Rusty and Diesel for his Thomas track.

neither of which were given him by us.

dh just turned to me and said 'we did well then'.

Pinotmum · 26/12/2006 12:23

Ds 4yo, loves his Talking Lightening McQueen car, his Lightening McQueen Slippers, his ightening McQueen Pants and LMcQ DVD

Dd 6 yo, likes everything "but the best thing was being together with everyone. I wished for that" Made all the rellies think she was an angel. That girls' gonna be an actress

Earlybird · 26/12/2006 12:26

Thanks for explanation oxo. What age is it suitable for? DD will be turning 6 in Feb, and wonder if it's a birthday pressie contender...

HarkTheAEROdAngelsSing · 26/12/2006 12:32

Ds1 (8.75) is enjoying his lego Star Wars game and kitchen science set.

Dd (6) is totally besotted with Baby Alive - will cost us a small fortune in replacement nappies and several craft sets.

Ds2 (3 in a few weeks) hasn't stopped playing with 'Murdoch' (one of Thomas's mates) on his tracks and he refuses to take off his spiderman outfit which I bought from a lovely mner (sorry, can't remember who) several months ago. Had enormous trouble getting into his pjs last night!!

busybusymum · 26/12/2006 12:35

my kids love their nintendo DS's although we didnt give then until about 4 oclock so we opened the other things first and played games etc then when DH was flagging we gave them their DS's and had DH had some peace and quiet.

I have to say the kids were very happy with their "pressie pile" before the DS's

Favourite gifts (other than DS) were for DD's (aged 7 &11) they each had a scarf (dd(7) hasnt taken it off yet and for DS (6yo) His beddy bear (one you put in the mircowave to heat up) DS (9yo) was a set of magnets that you throw up and they make a sizzling noise when they meet.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Pinkchampagne · 26/12/2006 12:40

DS1 loves his Scooby Doo ghost catching mystery machine & his V.Smile.

DS2 is mostly interested in all his brothers new toys!

oxocube · 26/12/2006 12:48

Earlybird, I think a 6 yr old would love it. My 5 yr old ds gor one but he is very good at computers, PS2 etc having 2 olds siblings. There is a very cute game called Nintendogs where the kids get to choose a dog, take care of it, train it, play with it etc. Very addictive!!

santasaltire · 26/12/2006 12:54

DS1 got (from MIL) a thing that plugs into the TV, and then you wear this thing on your leg, and kick a pretend ball and it shows if you ahve scored a goal or not. He also loves his 20Q, and Cludeo, which we played several times last night
DS2 got all three original trilogy Star Wars DVDs, all of which have been watched at least once! He also loves his Harry Potter gameboy game

TEEstheCEEsontobejolly · 26/12/2006 13:01

DD1 - has said "wow" to everything but I'd say so far the best has been: -

  • The Playhouse at the back of the garden complete with Tefal kitchen - massive, massive hit with both girls
  • As has the keyboard with mike stand and stool - both girls haven't left it alone
  • Little Mermaid DVD - it's just been on a loop and DD1 (5 yrs old) wakes up and asks for it!
  • Fifi's House - is the biggest hit with DD2 (1 yr old - she hasn't left it alone
AllieBeHomeForChristmas · 26/12/2006 13:01

TheChristmasArmadillo · 26/12/2006 13:25

Tiggerish · 26/12/2006 14:04

dd (19 mo) loves her elc iron and ironing board best. knew exactly what to do with it but I have no idea who showed her!

bournemouthbaublebabe · 26/12/2006 14:15

Quite odd - ds's top 3 things when asked were:

  1. Cars on PS2 - I expected that to be numero uno.
  1. A small sticky, yellow slinky man that was in his stocking, that you throw at the window and he slides down!
  1. another stocking prssie - two tiny lego people - Harry Potter and malfoy with a broomstick!
longwaytogotobethlehem · 26/12/2006 14:24
