Quick - need recipe for sprouts fried with bacon please!

Last minute decision of what to do with the sprouts tomorow and now need to know what I need to do tonight. I have sprouts - I have bacon - I have frying pan! Do I fry the sprouts whole or sliced, part boil them first, etc?

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean not bother with the sprouts? We actually like sprouts!

When I do it I boil the sprouts first, then fry the bacon while the sprouts are cooking. Once the sprouts are pretty much cooked, I just toss them in the pan with the bacon for the last couple of minutes - so you're not relying on the frying to cook them.

(But I'm veggie, so can't tell you whether they taste OK like that Dh likes them done that way, though).

I like sprouts shredded and fried with bacon and a bit of spice. That's how we're having them tomorrow ... only maybe goose fat, no bacon?

I always do them whole, but you could slice them if you want to!

Sorry, wasn't very helpful was it. Love bacon, hate sprouts, but I do need to realise there are some people who actually (gulp) LIKE them

How about boil the sprouts until they are soft. Whizz them in the blender with garlic, butter, salt and peanuts (if you have them). Chop the bacon finely and cook it separately. Stir into the sprout mash.

Even without the bacon, the sprout mash is really quite nice. It converted an avowed sprout hater.

You can slice the sprouts or chop them into quarters and then separate the leaves. Just fry some bacon then add the sprouts and continue to fry. I usually hate sprouts but they're lovely like iwith a bit of crunch to them, and not at all like normal boiled brussels

Ah, did it today with far too much goose fat. Unsurprisingly, it was tasty.
