I can't stop picking at it though - every time I go past it I have another little nibble

Christmas pud fried in butter with suzette sauce - dear god that sounds like heaven - although a little erm... rich

Ours was delish too - and really yummy the next day in sarnies too.

Yummy, scrummy, we had Ham in Coke tonight (ILs visiting) and have a small bit leftover for tomorrow night.

Salivating at the thought of it.

mamijacacalys · 23/12/2006 22:07

Glad its yum as am intending to try it for the first time this week, once the turkey's finished.

Was the first time I've bought 'fat' coke for years as am so used to buying diet.

Caroligula · 23/12/2006 22:10

Can you post the recipe please?

MrsSpoon · 23/12/2006 22:31

Recipe here - WWB's link from another ham thread.

Caroligula · 23/12/2006 22:41

You can eat it cold or hot - with new pottoes and vegetables, or salad-y stuff. I wouldn't recommend the sweetcorn pudding though - I did it with that the first time I made it, as Nigella recommends, and it was vile - chucked most of it away.

I'm making it on New Year's Day...yum

myrrhthamoo · 23/12/2006 22:58

If you can't get new pottoes, new potatoes will do.

hunkermunker · 23/12/2006 22:59

Moooooooooooooooooooooooo!

santasaltire · 23/12/2006 23:01

I'm probably being really thick here - or my brain is fuddled with wine, BUT, on that link to the recipe, it says , don't throw the coke mix away.
But it doesn't seem to say what you do with it!
Like i said, i've had wine so could be reading it wrong

SpicymulledSheraz · 23/12/2006 23:12

Doing mine tomorrow, then serving it cold on boxing day with CHIPS and pickled onions. Delish!!!

andaSOAPBOXinapeartree · 23/12/2006 23:19

Saltire - Nigella makes a black bean soup with the stock, which I haven't tried.

It is quite sweet but in that nicely balances savory sweet way. I've hung on to it and will have a think about what I could do with it!

I don't use Nigella's glaze on my ham though - on todays one I used lingonberry jam (from Ikea - pmsl) mixed with strong grain mustard. It is divine

We had it on Saturday with spiced red cabbage and potato gratin. It was very yummy, then had leftovers on Sunday with salad things.

She says to keep the liquid for South Beach Soup which I have made once and it was vile.

Well compliments galore tonight with the ham- a bit odd not used to my cooking being commented on in that way.
