I am sooo surprised extra nosey DD5 has not found her presents. We have them hidden in our wardrobe and airing cupboard at the top of the house covered by sheets etc. She likes to go up and play there and try on my shoes - if she only knew.......

Everywhere.

Well not quite but it feels like that.

busybusymum · 20/12/2006 13:12

mine are just sitting in my bedroom. along with my ironing pile. kids never nose around without asking.

LIZS · 20/12/2006 13:13

bottom of our wardrobe and some in the dining room atm. They just don't seem to think to look !

mrsratty · 20/12/2006 13:14

In my cuboard, they know they are there but have resisted looking. They are so unlike me!

JonesTheSteam · 20/12/2006 13:14

Attic

Our wardrobe and spare room wardrobe

Study (which can be locked because I don't like the DCs going on the computer / piano without one of us supervising)

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 20/12/2006 13:15

mum used to hide our presents in the attic. only problem was access to it was from my room. i never realised this was why i always got a special treat of falling asleep in mummy and daddys bed

WigWamBam · 20/12/2006 13:15

Ours are in cupboards in the spare bedroom. It doesn't seem to have occurred to dd that she could go rooting for them ... we have that joy to come!

MrsBadger · 20/12/2006 13:16

behind old shoes in bottom of wardrobe; in airing cupboard

DH is always poking round under the pretext of 'looking for his ski gloves' 'tidying up the towels' etc etc so his are safely stashed in the boot of my car!

MerryMegandSnowySoph · 20/12/2006 13:21

Some in airing cupboard with old duvet over & some under my bed covered in a sheet.

Marne · 20/12/2006 13:29

In dd1's wardrobe, under the bed and under dd2's cot.

Dd1 is only 2.9 so does'nt realy poke around.

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 20/12/2006 13:31

My mothers spare bedroom that way the kids cannot get anywhere near them. I shall collect them Sunday night after the kids have gone to bed.

2nervesnapartridgeinapeartree · 20/12/2006 13:39

Hidden in large cupboard in study. Although like many others because Santa is bringing them my dd5 hasn't even considered that any gifts will be in the house.

I remember ritually going though my parents wardrobe from November onwards and had often read my Beano annual by the time I was given it. Never had any surprises but it never stopped me the following year.

hunkermunker · 20/12/2006 13:42

Wrapped up under the tree

DS1 excited by them, but it hasn't occurred to him to do anything other than point at Thomas on some of the paper!

Miaou · 20/12/2006 13:50

Ours are all over our bedroom in boxes. The dds are under strict instructions not to go in there and I don't think they have - amazing!

(I don't think they would be able to resist peeking if they were under the tree - plus ds loves tearing paper therefore bad idea!)

oliveoil · 20/12/2006 13:53

Hunker - if they are already under the tree, do you not have a visit from Father Christmas??

Ours are in dd1's walk in closet thing, it is huge and I can bury stuff.

BettySpaghetti · 20/12/2006 13:56

As we've just had a hallway and utility room built and its not finished, there are boxes of lights and sockets to go up, tins of paint etc lying around so the wrapped presents are just in boxes and bin bags there .

The children are so used to the chaos there that they probably don't even see whats lying around at the moment

paulaplumpbottom · 20/12/2006 13:56

I DH's upstairs office. It has its own stairway and is separate from the rest of the house

wrappingpaperBOwZZAndribbons · 20/12/2006 13:58

Ours are in the loft. While DS and DD would not go actively looking for them, they could still easily find them. Also I have latest purchases and spare wrapping paper in a suitcase under the bed.

skill · 20/12/2006 14:07

Well, I've parked DH's new Jag behind the gate lodge, and the pony is grazing up the far end of the estate, so DD won't see it unless the helicoptor overflies that area ... oh wait, no. They're all in a tiny suitcase at the top of my wardrobe. Silly me.

hunkermunker · 20/12/2006 14:20

Yes, Father Christmas brings stocking presents in this house

Oh, and DS1 is only 2.8, so I'm sure I have time to refine my thinking before next Christmas

Next year, we hope to be in a house big enough to have hiding places for presents too

cece · 20/12/2006 14:20

Smaller items are in a very high cyupboard in the bathroom. A couple of bigger ones in boot of DH car and the main one is in the garage!

tinkerbellie · 20/12/2006 14:25

i have emptied out the drawer under my bed where the towles and my nightwear is kept and put dhs unders there, he will never look unless he puts something away (as if)
and the kids are hiden in my wardrobe which you can't open unless you stick a pen in the hole where the handle used to be (my home sounds so lovely!)

LorinaLovesSprouts · 20/12/2006 14:28

For years now I have stored all the kids christmas presents at Maureens house until christmas eve. Maureen is my friend who the kids know ,but they never go to her house. So the presents are safe there.

Infact its a big lie ,I have never left anything round there. But telling my kids I do has stopped them ever bothering to look for them. They are infact under my bed

LunarSeasonsGreetings · 20/12/2006 15:57

Wrapped up under the tree for most of them. The ones from Father Christmas to ds are in a bin liner in the garage.

bctmum · 20/12/2006 16:17

In the basement store room - usually just for cleaning equipment & pictures - so not an interesting place at all!!
