so my recommendations so far are as follows:

champagne: moet 1999 vintage (Asda...yes asda, have it for 29,95) incredible good value for one of the nicest champagnes i've ever had....stands up to bollinger '90

cheap fizz: clos de monistrol cava....sainsbos for £4.49, half price...better than most NV champagnes

wine society rioja.

in fact i'd recommend anyone joining wine society they are fab.

malory, over to you.

Tim Atkin in T'Observer has been ranting about Lindauer Brut as a good cheap fizz.
It's on a 3 for 2 at Thresher so comes out at about £6:99 a bottle.

I will be making a great many rum coctails from the bottle I have just received from my sister in Martinique.

Laithwaite's have served us well over the years.

Although am off the booze a little at present, wot with my iron woman regime and n odh to share a glass with.
Shall make up for it however.

Seek out a Condrieu.
Pricey £20ish) and elusive but bloody marvellous. Saw one in Tesco's the other day.
