What do you think about sending gifts from Amazon direct using gift wrap?

I did this for a friend's ds earlier this year for a birthday and she has sent a christmas present for my ds now in the same way. I hadn't seen their wrapping before and I am wondering if it is a bit impersonal and just not the done thing.

I wonder if she took offence or, more likely, that she thought that if I did it for her ds then I wouldn't be offended the other way round. (I am not offended just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I did it for DH at one point (forgotten what was happening, but there wasn't time for it to arrive and me wrap it) - His came wrapped much better than it would have been if I'd done it. I have no problem with it... was tempted to do it with all my gifts this year but couldn't justify the budget

I suppose if its the best way to get it there on time.

If someone was to take offence just cos you hadn't wrapped it yourself then they don't deserve the present. They should be grateful you are prepared to pay for it to be wrapped specially for them.

I think it's absolutely fine, and actually shows your generous spirit -- I've always been far too mean to pay the extra 3 quid or whatever it costs now.
