THE Big hit in our house was DD(2.10)'s playmobil camping set- I shuddered at the sight of all those minuscule pieces but she loves it and literally cheered when she saw it again this morning. Well done DD's godmother Xmas Grin

Misses- some hideous clothes for DD. Ah well. Oh and no one got me any Terry's chocolate orange .

Everything was a hit, although DS 4 kept asking me if he had a Spiderman bike and helmet from Father Christmas. Hmm

BathshebaDarkstone · 31/12/2015 12:13

Digi birds fun house

Haven't noticed any misses although dd2 wasn't thrilled about the books I bought her. I'm an avid reader,my dc aren't though so never appreciate the books even though I buy far fewer than I want to.
Hits here would be Now TV box with entertainment pass for ds1's TV (a steal at £20) A fur throw for ds2 (doesn't like putting the heating on at his), dd1's Kate Spade flamingo purse, an Assassins Creed hoody and a Yu gi oh figure (bought for him by ds1) for ds3 and the graphics tablet and art stuff for dd2.
For me it would be tickets to see Julian Clary and my iphone 6.

New favourite here. DD 2.4 got some Christmas money and picked the Humpty Dumpty Wall Game which is like a Jenga type game with a Humoty to sit at the top.
We all love it, very addictive.

New hits here now we have got around to using them for dd (3 and a half) - the DVD of Wind in the Willows, and a National Trust sticker book about Woodland Animals.
Misses - she's no interest in the Hairy McClary books I got her, or the Charlie and Lola one (she has liked Charlie and Lola books previously) - perhaps too old for these now?

DD (2)

hits:
wooden easel paper, crayons and chalks
toy horse
bouncy light-up ball
Duplo
Lindt chocolate reindeer

misses:
toy dog (has had no love compared to the horse, poor thing!)
clothes - well, I like them, but DD does not really "get" clothes as a present and just tosses them aside Grin
Peppa Pig DVDs - DD is soon to be 3 and seems to have grown out of Peppa already!
Ditto jigsaw puzzles which she seems to be less interested in nowadays.

Shame about the magnatiles not working out above. I bought a set of the slightly cheaper playmags for my trio (dd 4 and twin ds's 2.5) and they are a huge hit, played with for a significant part of each day so far.

Only real miss is the bloody elsa doll that dd nagged for for months. I knew full well she would take one look and never touch it again just like she did with Anna
Lottie dolls have been a hit however.

HITS (DDs 6 and 3.5):

Cinderella (from the film) dress, tiara and gloves
Lego Cinderella castle (although I am having to build it, very fiddly...)
Cuddly toys (dogs)
Craft stuff (Disney princess mosaic sets, DEPESCHE colouring books)
Draw on your own pencil case (Doodle-something)
UNO junior version
Barbie dvd and doll
Swim suits

SO-SO: Leapfrog devices (tablet and pen)

MISSES: Leapfrog Map of the World (to use with pen)

I am thinking of getting Lottie dolls for next year and possibly chucking Barbie and also the Melissa and Doug magic set which I think the eldest will enjoy.
