Thank you all!!

Yes he was very well behaved in Waitrose. more than i can say for Middle Chips who has decided that now she is about to turn 5 shes going to have the attitude of a teenager!

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/06/2016 10:16

I can sympathise Chip. DD2 has been a teenager since she could talk. The actual teenage years are a breeze as you are used to the attitude Grin Baby Chip is adorable - I miss dungarees.

I need to get dressed and then go and post a couple of birthday cards. My wrapping paper is stored in a drawer in the kitchen and is unfortunately pristine and my decorations are all boxed up and stored on shelves in the garage . We had to move out while the house had some work done a couple of years ago and needed to empty the house completely, including the loft. When we moved back in we vowed never to store anything up there again. We have kept to that vow, but can't move in the garage!

Paperblank · 04/06/2016 10:26

Lol @ Woolly. Our garage is a bloody tip. I only go in there to the tumble dryer or freezer. DH had been "sorting" it for 2 years....he's not got very far.

HairsprayBabe · 04/06/2016 10:31

We only moved a year ago and before that I was in a shared house with limited storage so i went a biy mad with the decs last year! And ended up with two trees for my small 2 up 2 down Grin
Will be going to Tiger later to pick up cellophane they have some with white spots and it looks like snow 🎄

Ratbagcatbag · 05/06/2016 07:57

Paper, it will be next week my paper sort but I'll feel happier doing it.

Wooly - I have a threenager in the house right now. I'm thinking it can't get much worse right? 😂

Happy Birthday to You

Xmas Grin

I have Cake (Fruit Cake with Marzipan 'n' Icing ) drool

I am going to scoff a nice gut busting dinner (yes, I cooked it but all the prep is curtesy of Tesco Finest so minimal effort)

Tommorow DH and I are having a lazy day out.
Don't think I'll buy any Christmas things but you never know Xmas Grin

I have A List from DD though for her Birthday.

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/06/2016 19:38

Happy Birthday 70

Sounds like you are having a fab birthday weekend. For a landmark birthday you should have at least a birthday week.

I bought DH a voucher for an experience for Christmas last year and the experience happened today. We got the Hmm face from the staff when he gave me a kiss and said Merry Christmas at the end of it Grin

ConstantlyCooking · 05/06/2016 22:55

Sorry I'm a day late 70 - hope you had a fantastic day. :)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/06/2016 15:14

Xmas Grin Thanks

Had a nice lazy day yesterday then some pottering about in the garden today after shopping (bought some eyelash serum , if that doesn't work I might have to try eyelash inserts)

Tomorrow I'm back at work, I'm going to tell everyone how many days to go. They'll be thrilled Xmas Wink

lollyj84 · 06/06/2016 16:53

Happy belated birthday 70

Ratbagcatbag · 07/06/2016 08:15

200

Practically hyperventilating in anticipation of the one hundreds for tomorrow.
Decluttering continuing, about 45 books now identified and boxed to drop in a local oxfam book donation point.
A few bits for a sell it page and some stuff for eBay. All is looking good. :)
How are you all?

HairsprayBabe · 07/06/2016 09:59

I feel like it is actually close now, I am off on holiday in a few weeks and then when I come back it will be non stop to Christmas land!

I get a bit poncy and make hampers that makes all the oldies in my family shed a few tears Grin. My chutneys (plum and port don'cha' know) take about 4-6 months to mature so they are first on the list. I have a week off in August where I will be pickling till the cows come home! Can't wait!

Told DP to start making his list soon he gave me a Hmm look, but I don't really care Grin haha!

BiddyPop · 07/06/2016 10:17

Belated Happy Birthday 70s!! (I can't access at home for some reason). I hope you had a fabulous weekend of celebrating - and don't forget that any year that has a 0 in it, means you need to have a year of celebrations so some sort of marking of it each month!!

Last day of the 200's - eeks!!

I need to knit for a baby due in August (rapidly!!) which I haven't started yet. And tidy the study so we can actually work there. But I have stacks of UFOs in the craft corner and I need to decide what to do with all of them....I have barely done any crafting at all in recent months, mostly a few urgent sewing repairs. This will NOT be the "Year of Homemade" after all I think...Sad

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/06/2016 07:56

199 Xmas Grin

Ratbagcatbag · 08/06/2016 07:57

Woolly I wanted 199, you only just beat me!!

Grin 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/06/2016 08:14

I did think about doing it at five past midnight, just before I went to bed, but that would have been weird and slightly over prepared. Because posting on a Christmas thread in June isn't over prepared

BiddyPop · 08/06/2016 10:08
Xmas Grin

Hands up - who amongst the "getting prepared" brigade was a Scout or Girl Guide in a former life (or even still!) ??!!

Sheepishly raises hand and hopes a few more join her

But we're under 200 now - and almost at the halfway mark of 25th June! I may ponder CIJ (Christmas in July) if I can see anywhere I should persuade DH I should visit in the south Manchester region on our trek home from holidays.....

Ratbagcatbag · 08/06/2016 11:14

Not me biddy, never did anything like that.

My love of Christmas is pretty sad, I grew up in a tough household and it was shite, I loved the magic of Christmas and the escape from the drudgery, getting glimpses into people's houses. As soon as I left home at 19 I set about making it amazing and I do, my poor long suffering dh used to get up with me at 5:30 every morning as I was sooooo excited (didn't have my own dd then. And DSS always spent Xmas Eve at his mums). Now I have dd I'm even worse. Christmas I think is just the time for fairy tales, I never got mine growing up so I try and give everyone theirs and make it memorable. 🎄🎄🎄

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/06/2016 11:37

Not me either.

DMum is a great cook and the festive season was always filled with wonderful dinners. She wasn't keen on all the Christmas hype but loved Midnight Mass and carol services - as do I. DDad was the Christmas nut and did all the shopping. He loved finding presents that were just right and would make a special trip to the food hall of Lewis's in Liverpool the weekend before Christmas for lots of festive goodies. So I try to combine the best of both of them.

Paperblank · 08/06/2016 12:01

Me! ME! I was a brownie (sixer and everything Grin)

I was, however, asked to leave the girl guides Blush.

DH took this pic last August. He said it was disgraceful that there were baubles in the shops. I was banned from buying some....I wanted to purely because I could!

Countdown to 2016 - a whole extra day to wait.
lollyj84 · 08/06/2016 12:31

I went to brownies twice and cried both times. The brown owl (think that what she called) was strict. My sister loved the guides although never helped with organisational skills, she is what is knowm as lastminute.com

HairsprayBabe · 08/06/2016 13:02

Me me me! I was, Sixer and everything in Brownies and Guides dork left at 16 :) still remember my promise! Ha!

I think the reason I LOVE christmas so much is because it was sooo good as a child totally magic, homemade pressies, believing in FC for a long time. Big family no drama, very tradish! My dad is getting a little more grinchy grumpy as time goes on and often asks why I am obsessed with christmas, I always say to him he shouldn't have made it so good!
