I am currently cutting vegetables to make a stock for gravy. In a minute I'm prepping my brothers vegan dinner and then setting the table with DD so I dont have to after presents and before I'm stuck in the kitchen making dinner...

What's everyone doing x

Getting ready to drive down to my mom's. Dh has washed the dog, and packed the car up. I'm just wafting around ineffectually, as per. Dd seems to be getting all her toys out and spreading them across the floor of her bedroom, which as we have to leave shortly is not ever so helpful.
When we get to mom's we're going for a buffet lunch at my cousin's.

Hopelass · 24/12/2015 10:52

I'm lying on the living room floor mning and still recovering from 7.30 trip to m&s for emergency dessert for tomorrow as mil decided she didn't like what we'd previously agreed on. DS watching nursery rhymes on iPad and DP silicone sealing the bathroom and swearing a lot. DCat is watching him. Need to wrap presents but CBA Grin

PlaymobilPirate · 24/12/2015 10:57

Currently watching Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

Need to nip to M&S for party tea tonight for me and dp

Then off to Beamish for the afternoon

Xmas Smile
BestIsWest · 24/12/2015 10:58

I've sent everyone else out for last minute bits and pieces while I start the cooking. Ham is on and I am having a coffee. We're having a buffet later so I should think about doing stuff for that but have got a cold and feeling sorry for myself so taking it easy.

HemanOrSheRa · 24/12/2015 11:00

Am I allowed to brag and say I am rather proud of myself? Up until Tuesday I honestly thought we were going to have to cancel Christmas.

My Dear Dad is very ill with advanced cancer, he came home from hospital on Tuesday basically to end his days. We have spent the last few weeks in a state of shock and panic and I had done NOTHING about christmas.

BUT! Dad is home and in good spirits, very much looking forward to tomorrow Smile. I have managed to get my act together, get the tree up, buy DS's presents, buy everyone elses presents, do the food shopping and do my bit with caring for Dad.

So today ALL I have to do is a bit of housework, make Christmas gravy, a bit of other food prep and wrap presents. A gentle day of pottering.

Merry Christmas Xmas Smile

PS I'm still in bed drinking tea BlushGrin.

PennyHasNoSurname · 24/12/2015 11:02

My lie in day, so am still in bed with a brew. All gifts bought and wrapped. Dhs family over for a buffet and present swap this afternoon (need to chuck the nibbles on a plate later), then ive a couple of gifts to collect from Mums (mine for dcs down there to hide them). Once my guests go, dcs into bed, dh and watch a movie and finish the rest of the nibbles then off to bed. Looking forward to today!

WyrdByrd · 24/12/2015 11:03

For the first time in 8 years we're not going to be at home, so DD & I have been vegging and are about to get bathed and dressed.

DH has had an appointment this morning so he's meeting us in town after lunch and we're all going to see the Snoopy movie then coming home for a Chinese.

Have a couple of things to wrap and DD's card to make this evening and that's it.

Off to in-laws tomorrow with my mum and dad.

chantico · 24/12/2015 11:07

HemanOrSheRa Brag away!

That is the loveliest post about Christmas Xmas Smile and I hope you all have a fantastic time.

mummc2 · 24/12/2015 11:13

im in my elf onesie just finished watching elf with the dd's off to local shop in a bit for few essentials then more xmas film watching and paper garland making. Will probably set the table before bed so not in a rush tomorro and write my times out for food but most stuff is frozen so hardly any prep needed.

Doublebubblebubble · 24/12/2015 11:15

HemanOrSheRa definitely brag x aww everyone I really hope no one burns anything, present unwrapping goes without any hiccups and that you all get what you really wanted. X just realised I've forgotten bacon for Xmas breakfast off to Asda for some festive madness!!

BathshebaDarkstone · 24/12/2015 11:17

Slobbing on the sofa watching Horton Hears a Who with the DC. Making lunch in 5 minutes. Xmas Smile

IpanemaMeisje · 24/12/2015 11:27

Dancing to the radio while making the veggie main for tomorrow. Nibbling choccies and drinking coffee, would like to go out for a run later if this rain stops for a bit....
Relies arriving later, then off to church for some carols.
Love Christmas Eve

HemanOrSheRa · 24/12/2015 11:32

Thank you chantico and Double! Xmas Smile

Bedrooms for guests are done.
Need to organise airbeds for DS and DH (they are in DS room but need inflated) I'm sleeping on the sofabed because I'm the shortest out of the three of us.
DH and I + DS are all sleeping in DS room (he's 16 that'll be 'nice' with his teen boy mess and staying up on XBox till all hours)

Started on dinner for this evening (family arriving late afternoon~ish)
Been out to buy fresh bread.
Need to do a final final list of what I'm cooking

And wrap 2 of DD presents that we bought in London yesterday.

CremeEggThief · 24/12/2015 12:06

I need to hoover and mop downstairs, clean the bathroom and do 3 loads of laundry. Just finishing off my cuppa, after arguing with DS, who was being stubborn about running an errand I asked him to do. Why, oh why, do teenagers have to dig their heels in about everything?Xmas Angry

shortaris1 · 24/12/2015 12:06

Heman how lovely. Have a great day.

20thcenturyschizoidwoman · 24/12/2015 12:22

I am still in bed!

Have been up and had a shower and now back in bed

Was in hospital with an exacerbation of my asthma with a rip roaring chest infection so I feel pretty shit

Wobbly and woozy without the alcohol!

DH and I don't have small children so we are going to do fuck all today. Hope tomorrow I will be fit enough to go out for my lunch

HerbieRidesAgain · 24/12/2015 12:34

I have tidied house, now about to go to work Smile

Sallystyle · 24/12/2015 12:42

Turkey is in the oven, so is the stuffing.

DH is making the dessert and white sauce for tonight's lasagne.

Im about to start on the gravy then the floor will need a good clean.

Three children are round their nan's for the afternoon and two of them are watching TV.

Once I've done my gravy I plan to join them with some hot chocolate. Although I should probably shower first.

Oldwestaction · 24/12/2015 12:56

We've had a very lazy morning watching bed knobs and broom sticks. I've just made a batch of mince pies and then me and ds are off to see my parents for a late lunch before the christingle service at church.

SafariOrigami · 24/12/2015 13:09

Dd is playing and reading in her room.
Dh has gone to town to collect the turkey and sherry trifle from M&S
I am on here in my pjs. Will make lunch when dh gets home. We will light the fire and loads of tealights / candles and watch cristmas tv. May have a baileys while the ham bakes in the oven. I LOVE christmas eve!

TheScottishPlay · 24/12/2015 13:09

Got up with DH at 6.45am. He is working until 4pm.
After he left I made veg soup with gammon cooking in it, parboiled potatoes and carrots for roasting tomorrow, made cauliflower cheese and banana loaf.
Currently watching a (non Christmassy) film with DS before we make Hairy Bikers Mud Pie and Lemon Drizzle Cake together.
I'm debating whether to go to early evening church service later or enjoy Carols at Kings on TV.
Merry Christmas everyone.

popcornpaws · 24/12/2015 13:12

Playing my christmas cd whilst drinking coffee and eating a warm fat rascal.
Dyed my hair, house sparkling, dog sleeping, dh still at work, dd out shopping with her bf.
Going to work later, 4-8pm, (retail) its one of the best shifts of the year as the customers are happy and patient for once!
Will have a buffet tonight with plenty baileys when i get home.

Doublebubblebubble · 24/12/2015 13:37

Just got back from Asda... NIGHTMARE
Saw two women shouting at each other over figs, figs for goodness sake.

Time for a sit down, cuppa tea and a cuddle with dd x (ds is in his Moses basket all snuggly) x
