SafariOrigami · 23/12/2015 17:06

We are not hosting this year for the first time in 10 years!!! We are going to my sisters house, so there will be me, dh, dd, my sister, her husband and son and my parents.

We are coming home on Christmas night and on boxing day I am cooking our own christmas dinner for the 3 of us- turkey, ham - the lot! Can't wait...

blueobsessive · 23/12/2015 17:14

First time cooking at ours. Mil, sil, sil's fiancé (silf?), DH - what could possibly go wrong!? Surely not everything ...well, at least we have chocolate

IamSantaClaus · 23/12/2015 17:31

Just dh and 2 dcs who are both under 3. I bought the steak from the butcher today . Really looking forward to a hopefully chilled out day with just the four of us

Sansoora · 23/12/2015 17:42

Me, 5 adult children, 4 son and daughters in law, 5 grandchildren, 4 of their other granny and granddads, 4 of my sons carers, my housekeeper, approx 9 of my children's friends and colleagues.

So about 33 but that could increase if my son and son in law who are both pilots, and coming home on Christmas Day morning, bring some of their crew with them. They're generally far away from home and their pals are probably away flying so its a case of come to my mums.

I love it.

IamSantaClaus · 23/12/2015 17:51

Sansoora that sounds great Smile

PotteringAlong · 23/12/2015 17:57

4 of us, PiL, BiL, GMiL, DH's godmother

We've never hosted before; I'm quite excited!

PotteringAlong · 23/12/2015 17:59

Sansoora, yours sounds awesome Grin

Penfold007 · 23/12/2015 18:03

DH, me and both DC along with my elderly and unwell parents. Think my equally elderly uncle will be with us as his partner won't now be discharged from hospital until the new year.

Sansoora · 23/12/2015 18:05

Iam, right now the weather is great where I live so I just set up tables in the garden. Prep wise I get a lot done before the day and my children all have responsibility for something that gets done at their house and brought with them. In fact one of my sons lives across the road from me and he does one of the Turkeys, so when he nips out for a fag he nips across the road and does a bit of basting as well. I love a house full of happy people with groaning bellies and at Eid I have about 70 through the door before 11am for the traditional breakfast. Christmas is a doddle really Grin

Sansoora · 23/12/2015 18:08

Pottering, thank you Smile

SheGotAllDaMoves · 23/12/2015 18:08

DH, 2 DC and I.
My mum and maternal aunt.
Paternal aunt and her DH.
Cousin, her DH and 2 DC.
Cousin plus wife.
BIL plus wife plus 4 DC.

Ishtar2410 · 23/12/2015 18:11

Thankfully it's just us and the DCs and we aren't hosting anyone for Christmas lunch. After 4 years of a grouchy MIL who arrived late, tried to pick a fight at every opportunity and declared the food too tough/hot/cold/not enough gravy, DH has put his foot down and she's coming to tea instead.

Tea I can cope with. It'll be a free-for-all, help yourself, arrive when you like buffet. I'll be too pissed tired and emotional to care by then Grin

geogteach · 23/12/2015 18:12

me, DH and our 3 kids, DM,DF,DSis1, Dsis2 and DBil and sprog, Dbro and Dsil and 2 sprogs. Quite like hosting but now becoming a tie as Dsis is in a wheelchair and can't access anyone elses house so has to be here every year.

Hannahfftl · 23/12/2015 18:17

Just me and Dm, she's working in the morning so I'll be doing the majority of the cooking. Not that it's hard for just the two of us!

Buttwing · 23/12/2015 18:18

Me, dp, dd(10), dd(5), ds(2), ds(1), fil, bil, bil, dm, dss,dsd and her dp that makes 13 I think!

Me, DB1(36), DB2 (27), DM (57), DGM (83) and her boyfriend (80). I've cooked half the stuff and done the table etc before but this is the first time I've hosted at my home, and done it all.

Sansoora · 24/12/2015 03:31

DGM (83) and her boyfriend (80).

How absolutely blooming wonderful Smile

Chottie · 24/12/2015 04:49

Just me and DH this year. DH is in charge of the cooking, so easy-peasy Xmas Smile

LittleBeautyBelle · 24/12/2015 05:11

Just me, dh, and ds for a cozy Christmas Eve dinner and we'll go to midnight mass, then on Christmas Day we'll go to my parents where there will be 24 of us, family and extended family. Lots of fun and a little crazy though.
