We have a large walnut tree in our garden. So as we're new to the area, I spent ages washing, drying and packaging the walnuts. I have been giving them out as gifts to all and sundry, but this week I also walked around to all our neighbours (most of whom I've never seen) and left a bag of walnuts on their doorstep with a Christmas message.
Well since then we have been invited to a neighbours drinks party and had another couple come round yesterday to introduce themselves.
They're all about 100 years old but it's so nice to get to know them all.
