Whats open and fab in or around London on Boxing Day?

It DS1's 9th birthday and as we have no other family commitments wanted to take him somewhere for the day, obv the likes of chessington/ thorpe park and legoland all closed.

What about an IMAX film?

Dont know if the ice rink at St Katherines or is it Somerset House will be open?

I was thinking about a film, the bigger 2 would love ice skating- but the littler ones couldn't do it hmm but it might work if there was somewhere nice to sit and watch. Somerset House maybe? DH fancys taking them to see the sights as we are leaving london for good in the new year. Is the imax near vauxhall? we took them in glasgow and they loved it.

Are all the free museums closed? Science tc?

Tussauds is open, but not sure if he's be interested in it really. Pirates set still there.And xmassy stuff.

IMAX is near Waterloo station - just had a quick look, they're showing Happy Feet (2D) and Polar Express (3D) on Boxing Day.

Out of interest, why didnt you like Tussauds?

Oh, was getting all excited and geared up for a slating of Tussauds! I know what you mean though; ds1 adores seeing Tower Bridge, Big Ben, and HMS Belfast more than anything. And he never says he's going into London, its always going into 'London Bridge'

Yes he said that the museum (as in the new film opens boxing day) I wonder if the science museum is open?
