Christmas bonus for cleaner

Hello, this will be our first Christmas with a cleaner. I understand that a bonus is normal but is there a formula for working it out e.g. a proportion of normal wages?

Will also get her something small (box of chocolates type thing) to unwrap and of course a card.

TIA :)

I am a cleaner and I've been given an extra weeks money at times. Even a box of chocolates is nice, just makes you feel appreciated

I give one weeks wages and a small gift.

I did a clean this morning and was so touched that they left out a chocolate santa for my little boy. I got an extra weeks wages too, but the fact they had left something for Ds really meant more to me than the cash for some reason.

One week's wages here too, think it must be pretty standard by the look of it!

Mine is paid £30pw. I plan to give her a magnum of prosecco and £20 in a card. She loves prosecco so that suits her and she should like.

Just over a week's wages here to make it a round amount.

Well she is coming today and have left a week's wages and a box of chocolates. Thanks for all your help everyone :)

What do you do if they work through an agency?

Mine get two weeks off at Christmas - so that's taken out of my hands, and I pay £12 a hour, but they get £9 of that I think.

I bought each if them a candle from The White Company as I wanted to give them a bit of a 'luxury' gift, but am wondering if I should have given some cash now I've read this thread?

Ours works for an agency Good so I left an envelope with a week's worth of what we pay the agency in. It then won't go to the agency but straight to her. We pay the agency through bank transfer.

Honestly good it really is the thought behind it that counts - I have a cleaning agency (as well as doing odd cleaning jobs myself) and I know for a fact that the people I enploy are over the moon with a card saying thank you, never mind anything else on top. Plus, white company candles are gorgeous! Please don't worry - your gift really will be so appreciated Flowers

Thanks - I didn't realise that the company shut for Christmas and had a panic so they said they'd try and squeeze me in. I'll give them a weeks cash each if I see them. Smile

If you don't know her but want to buy something, how about a nice box of biscuits - if she doesn't eat them herself, they'll be a handy extra over xmas to offer family & visitors.
