If no space in the freezer?
ATM I'm thinking three days to defrost....perhaps.
How many days will it survive in the fridge?

Three days may not be enough depending on the size, the food safety chart is here: www.foodsafety.gov/keep/charts/turkeythawingchart.html

That's a really good start, thanks.
Once the turkey is defrosted, would it last like normal meat?
3-4 days?

Could I buy a hefty beast on Wednesday and not need the freezer?

Please.
Or, will I poison everyone?

Yes of course just buy it on Wednesday. They'll be dated post 25th from Monday probably. Bit confused as to the necessity of frozen turkey🤔.

Could I buy a fresh one on Wednesday?
No idea that would be possible. Thank you.
So, either way, I can buy the budgie on this Wednesday? Seems a long time for fresh.

llhj, thanks for putting me off the mass poisoning.
I have looked in the freezer and there were none left anyway. The fresh ones come in from the 20th onwards. I think (hope) I will manage to get one.

I've seen fresh turkey crowns today, with a use by date of 27th December.
Is that safe?

I usually buy a medium frozen bird early 23rd and defrost in freezer and it's fine.
