Need Playmobil expert - Playmobil dilemma WWYD?

DD (8.5) already has the small Playmobil pony farm which she plays with nearly daily, and is adding to at the moment with the pony advent calendar.
I have bought her 3 more individual pony and stable sets for her stocking plus the take along stable to go under the tree.

Amazon now have the large pony farm reduced to £68 and I'm wondering whether to take the take along stable back to Toys r us and order the big set from Amazon. It wouldn't be her main present as she is having the Lego Elves castle and a new micro scooter, she has said previously she would love the large pony farm but not if it meant not having the Lego castle ( scooter is a suprise)

I know she would be thrilled but would there really be that much more play value? She is the youngest so no one to pass down to.

I would do it. She would be so excited. I buy what they really want as I love their reactions. I remember the year my now 11 year old asked for fairy platinum washing up liquid ( he's autistic and loves things to be squeaky clean) he cried he was so happy.

I would do it, too. She'll probably be amazed and delighted.

My DS wanted Playmobil until he was about 11 or so. We have A LOT of it (in the basement now), but it has given hours of enjoyment.

And it stores well. If you don't want it for future generations, it seems to fetch good money on ebay....

What age does Playmobil lose its attraction?

Don't know about the rest, but to answer your last question - my oldest is 9 and asked for Playmobil this year.

I know she will be excited and she never asks for lots. Took back the Take along stable after work this morning so all sorted.

My dd is horse-obsessed and is still playing with her Playmobil stables aged 12 yrs!! [Admittedly she also makes intricate dressage arenas and tack rooms out of cardboard and has decorated a club room for the riders etc so she is playing with it in a different way, but it has been a great value-for-money gift, played with regularly for eight years!!] I don't think you will regret buying it for your dd.

That's really great seared, DD loves playing ponies to the extent that she rides her rocking horse and I read out dressage tests.

IRL DH and I have always ridden and competed but DD has never been interested quite happy to brush her pony and lead it around, but much more into drama, ballet and musical theatre, so it is now an expensive 'pet'!

I used to ride regularly before I was fat and still go for the occasional amble on a long-suffering weight-bearing cob (armchair leg on each corner type).

DD horse obsessed also but we live in a city so riding only poss at weekends and during holidays and only chance to have pony is at full time livery - have been looking for two years for something suitable without success!

I very much envy your dd her lovely "pet" though!!
