Little things that piss you off while Christmas shopping... [lighthearted]

My DCs always get character underwear in their stocking. I have a DS and a DD and generally make their stockings nice and even.

WHY does girls' underwear always come in packs of 5, while boys' boxers are in sets of 3? WHY?

Same with womens /mens underwear.
Pack of 5 in M&S or Sainsburys for me
Pack of 3 for DH

I was going to say that IME , boys (well, ok , my DS) don't change them as often as girls

DD used to change completely about 3 times a day insisting she'd "got a bit of wee wee" when her clothes were bone dry !

My Piss Me Off Christmas Shopping is the same thing that pisses me off the other 51 weeks of the year.

Haha 70 well SO far DS does change his every day...

I'm vaguely considering getting DD a pack of 2 if I see one, and then a naice pair of tights. As then it's still even (yes, I have issues Xmas Blush) :o

Why the fuckity fuck do shops sell "day of the week" socks in packs of five (Monday - Friday)? Do people not wear socks at the weekends?

Christmas themed clothes give me the rage.

I don't want to give pjs or socks with reindeer or snowmen on them that can be worn for a week after receipt and then need to go away until next christmas. Obviously I don't buy them.

I have a feeling somebody is making a lot of money out of the Christmas Eve new pyjamas thing...

And three for two deals where nothing is the same price so you always feel slightly cheated.

I don't like christmas themed clothes either, my 2 do get underwear/socks/PJs at christmas but it's just something character-based rather than festive.

:o at the non-sock weekends.

I always try hard to find something as close to the value of the other two items as possible, to feel I've made the most of the offer Xmas Grin

Don't really use such offers these days though as I do most of my shopping online, but did absolutely loads in the past when DH worked for Boots.

Grandmother repeatedly running me over today with grandchild in a buggy, round and round she zoomed trying to get the toddler to stop tantruming whilst I was trying to choose a gift from a clothes rack.

I moved out of her way three times and the fourth she hit me in the leg. I gave her a look and she said I should understand because I had a baby (sleeping in sling). Whether or not I have a baby is irrelevant - be considerate and bloomin' apologise if you bump into someone Xmas AngryXmas AngryXmas Angry

Re 3 for 2 offers - always be careful if you buy 6 items. Say, for example, you pick up 4 items for £10 each and the remaining 2 at £3 each, the two cheapest would be free, so total cost is £40. Instead, buy them in two separate transactions - 3 @ £10, so one is free, cost is £20. Then 1 @ £10 and 2 @ £3 - one of the £3 items is free, so cost is £13. Overall cost is £33, not £40. IYCWIM!

Good advice! Boots used to do it so that they put them all in order, and it'd be every 3rd item that was free (so for £10 £9 £8 £7 £6 £5 it'd be the £8 and £5 free) but I'm not sure if they do that anymore.

People bloody rushing about everywhere, not caring about people in wheelchairs, prams, old people who are clearly struggling.

I saw an able man today see an old lady drop her cards in card factory. He walked his boots all over them before I had to chance to pick them up.
Why don't people stop and help or let one person in the queue?
I know people are busy and I'm lucky to have the time, I know.
Why do people turn into such cunts?

The woman who thought it was ok for her toddler to have a whistle in the middle of a crowded mall. He was blowing it with every breath. She was oblivious to all the death stares she was getting somehow!

People that insist on standing so close to the card rack in card shops that they block a major sized part of the card rack making nit hard for anyone else to choose a card!!!

OutrageousFlavourLikeFreesias well some people like me are just doing what they normally do throughout the year.
I have done all my shopping online both Christmas and grocery. I still have to run into the bank, buy flowers and make appointments like I do every other week. But it's mental in town for weeks. Just why? It's getting worse every year.

The main thing I'm disliking is the turning everything consumerist into "tradition". Even buying a bloody tree is now an overpriced experience at a local farm.
The plus side is how cheap things are. Chocolate coins, satsuma and Christmas cards are really cheap compared to 10 years ago.

Trying to find a parking space. Mil gave up trying to get parked near Argos and went home. People had parked on pavements, verges and all sorts. I had to go with her today and we done a drive by. I was still circling looking for a space when she came out with her shopping.
