What age range are these books?

I have been wanting to get my niece a set of books by Jill Murphy as part of her Christmas present. They are books about the large family, and I remember loving them as a kid. The problem is that I don't know what age these books are aimed at, so I'm not sure if they will be too young for her?

Any advice?

I think they are for toddlers or young preschoolers, the kind of books you'd read aloud to them - assuming you mean the books about the elephant family.

Yes, the ones about the elephant family. She's 4 so I wasn't sure what to do.

I would get them for a four yr old.At that age you read for them anyway. My dd now 8 still loves the one when they are on a diet and eating cake in the middle of the night.
I think they are also in a cartoon now(I think)

My 6 year old got the set of these for Christmas when she was either 3 or 4 - she had them read to her then and reads them herself now.

My DD (8) and DS (4) have them and both enjoy them - they have a set with a CD so can listen and read along.

The Large family books are ideal for a 4 year old. I taught Reception class for years and they were always a big hit.

DS was reading them at four, and still enjoys them now at six.

The stories are lovely.
