Hello all! Please , any opinions for a confused mum, I want to buy my 18 mth old a baby doll for Chrsitmas - any views on whether there is much to choose between ELC Baby Millie and Baby Annabel? Also they apear to be badged 3+ - are they going to be too old for an 18 mth old or would she 'grow into' playing with it quite quickly?
Thanks!

DD had baby lucy (same as milly) when she wsa 18mths - sufficed for the time, enjoyed the basics of feeding and pushing baby in pushchair.

She's getting BA this year (3.9)and will probably enjoy this more now. Didn't want to spend that money when she was younger - just in case she didn't like baby dolls.

I'd go for baby millie and get the free pack of accessories too.

Thanks Lexiemum - is BM a bit more 'basic' than BA then, they seem to cost about the same?

I got my dd a basic baby doll last year(she was 2.2) was not sure if she would play with it, however she has proved to be a good mum and is getting baby annabel from her gran this year. She is 3. Getting ananabel as she choose it herself but did notice that ELC giving accessory pack with their doll worth £25. I think they both do roughly the same things.

You can get a 'first' Annabell I think. My DD (5 now) loves these dolls, has done since about 2. But she always switches off the crying, ect!

Great, thank you all very much for your advice. Good to know you can switch the crying off - if only it worked with the real ones!!!!!!

My 21 month old just got a BA from her granny. I find it freaky in the extreme but she absolutely loves it. Mind you, the crying sent her into hysterics of fear so I kept it turned off for the first few days but now she asks for "baby noise"!! Be prepared to be changing doll's nappies several times a day if she's anything like my dd!

Neither, get a Baby Born. It's much quieter and she can scrub it in the bath if it gets dirty (or drawn on.) And you can hide the packet of food/poo that comes with it until they're older.
FYI resuable doll nappies here
