Last year did filo pastry cases with king prawn salad, have done smoked salmon to death and we will be having with scrambled egg for breakfast this year. Catering for 4 adults and 4 kids (7-17)

What do you all do for a starter, need some new ideas!!

Thanks x

Champagne. It. Is. All. That. Is. Necessary. Before Christmas lunch and all the trimmings Grin

I have a really tasty mackerel pate recipe. Garlicky, lemony with salty fish. It tastes so much better than my description! PM me if you want to trial run the recipe.

this is a bit of effort but delicious. Prawn cocktail or smoked salmon is always fine by me Xmas Smile

If there is no free range chicken I'm afraid all options are off the menu

Cranberry and brie parcels. Get the roll out puff pastry, cut into squares, add a teaspoon of cranberry and a dollop of brie, then twist the pastry up and around the filling so it's sealed, brush with butter and stick in the oven until golden.
