I'm rubbish at coming up with ideas. I have a red linen tablecloth, and various napkins in white, dark green etc. I have a cream and gold table runner (which doesn't match anything)and some Trivial Pursuit crackers (which are turquoise and gold!) Any thoughts for a really nice scheme? Am happy to spend up to £20 on stuff if it makes it look good. If it helps, the room is painted a sort of Moroccan dark blue, with lots of natural wood (and clutter). Thanks in advance for your help - I know you'll come up trumps. Mince pie for the best idea (see me in the bar later)

I would suggest a blue a sliver theme to go with the room. Get some blue placemats and a white tablecloth ebay has some cheap ones ( I`ve looked) . Then use a two long taper sliver coloured candles along the centre. The main centre piece a cheap stubby church candle on a plain cake stand/plate raise it om a ramekin then use green foilage and blue baubles to decorate. Then use plain napkins tied with blue and silver ribbon and a parcel label used as a table setting with the name written in silver. Sliver chocolate as table gift.

Alternative centre fill a vase with blue and silver baubles the light from the candles either side will make them sparkle.

Ebay: Placemats and tablecloth £10.00
Candles: Tesco £4.00
Ribbon: hobbycraft or john lewis £2.00
Parcel tags: hobbycraft or paperchase 99p for ten
Pen cardshop: 99p
Chocolates: try lidl or poundshop

p.s If the crackers have removable ribbons tie with the blue sliver ribbon. The turquiose should then work as a nice accent colour.

Wow what a genius! And thanks for the costings too. I've spent most of the afternoon putting up fairy lights in there, and wrapping the wire with gold tinsel - will go and buy some silver tinsel now instead to go with my new theme! Ebay here I come
