artificial garland for bannisters?

Anyone know where I can get a good quality plainish garland for my bannisters? I want something that will help the hall look more like a House Beautiful cover. I looked at the ones in B and Q and the long ones were rather sparse looking. I would rather not have one with lots of decoration that will probably come off if I wind it around the uprights.

Probably too late now (because they sell their Christmas wares in Sept) but I got one from Costco
9' long, prelit , few pinecones, if you know anyone who plans a trip soon, worth a look?

No need to wind a garland around the spindles of a staircase, it just shortens the overall length. Instead use lengths of wired Christmas ribbon to tie it on. The ribbon will make it look festive and lush. Once in position you can add other decorations, or artificial foliage, which will bulk up any sparseness. With the B&Q garlands you can twist two together to make it fuller, if you don't want to add other foliage.

John Lewis and m and s have fake garlands. You could also use greenery from the garden which won't cost anything - ivy twisted around banisters? I always cut off a lot of tree branches from the back of our Christmas tree and use them to decorate the house. You can add ribbons, baubles, fake berries and fruit to jazz it up.

I've just got some from tesco direct, bargain at ten quid each (used my clubcard vouchers and so free !!) I wanted something plainish, these have a few pine cones and red berries on.
My SiL gave me a good tip too, Add some Fresh herbs and other greenery to fill them out even more. I'm going to add some ribbon and lights and then have baubles hanging down on ribbon.

Hi OP I got one from M and S last year. I added fairly lights to it and it looked good with or without them lit. I'll look to see if they're doing the same one this year and link...
