Want to know what I need so I can be ready to find them on Black Friday!

I put two sets of 240 LEDs on mine but that's enough to see my tree from space! Xmas Grin

I googled this (although for a 7ft tree) and got all sorts of answers (and ways of calculating it Hmm...

I went with 480 led lights for my 7ft tree. Hoping that'll be about right!

NewLife4Me · 26/11/2015 21:28

we have 240 on ours, plus a 40 or 60 can't remember sorry.

Glad I asked as I'd assumed it'd be about 100!

I saw some calculation which recommended 50 lights per foot of height. But I can't see how that works, as 50 on the top would be much more crowded together than 50 at the bottom wide part. Maybe the idea is a total of 50 per foot distributed evenly. That would not work either as it would give a much greater density overall on a small tree than it would on a tall one.

Anyway, definitely more than 100 on a 7ft tree, the 480 as pink suggests sounds OK but extra top ups to hand would be a good idea.

This site suggests 100 - 200 per foot. Definitely visible from outer space.

Ooh TrickyConfused now I don't know whether to get a spare 100 lights just in case??? My tree is in the corner of the room though....

Get them Pink. If the long string conks out at least you will have a twinkly back up.
