Why isn't it coming? If you have paid then they are in breach of contract. Stamp and scream until they at least give you some compensation. Most people moan about these things but let it slide - make a fuss.

charliecat · 11/12/2006 16:40

They say there was a problem with the website that day. Should I kickup a fuss?

Did you receive a confirmation e-mail? (This is crucial before I can advise you further)

charliecat · 11/12/2006 16:47

Thank you for placing your order with boots.com.

I'm sorry to inform you that we can't deliver your order number

This was due to a technical problem with our ordering system on the
date your order was placed. As we are unable to process the order, we
have had to cancel it. You have not been charged for this order.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused
you. If you have any further questions JKJHJ please don?t hesitate to
contact me.

So can you reorder ?

snowydelight · 11/12/2006 18:10

Technically the confirmation e-mail you normally receive after you order online (and to comply with the Distance Selling Regs) acts as the "acceptance" part of the requirements for a contract to be formed, i.e. offer, acceptance and consideration. If you haven't had a confirmation until now no contract exsits. So legally, you haven't got an argument BUT they have assigned an order number to it and have referred to "the date the order was placed" so personally I would act in ignorant bliss and phone up and make a fuss. Do you still want the stuff? If so, try and insist that they allow you to re-order, not bothered? I would still try and get something out of them for the inconvenience. It's always better to be in a dispute with a big company rather than a smaller one, you should be able to get at least a voucher for the hassle.

Oh god! I would be screwing!! I know from telephoning boots direct a few weeks back that they are having stock problems. All the 3 for 2 offers had been more successful than they had anticipated. Soooo thinkiing they could be using 'technical problem' as an excuse.
