Dd, 6, has 2 things in her Christmas list, a globe and a glow in the dark party dress. Where she got that brilliant idea I don't know!
Any ideas on where to find one? Tia

Um, how handy are you? You can get glow in the dark fabric paint or even glow in the dark fabric. But the only glow in the dark outfits I've seen have been Halloween ones.

Not handy at all unfortunately. But maybe if I can use the paint on a bought dress? Or is that a crazy idea?

Not at all, I think that's by far the easiest way!

Thanks, will the paint show or just appear in the dark, and which material for the dress? Sorry for all the questions.
Now I'm thinking about just getting the dress (dark blue) and paint and let her go crazy.

I had a glow in the dark party dress when I was a little girl. It had glowing stars on the skirt. I'd forgotten all about that!
Anyway, I think DIY is the way to go! Or maybe ebay? I find you can get almost anything on ebay!

Great idea to get the paint and let her do it herself! Maybe a tutu? In fact, might add that to my 5 year olds Christmas list....

Don't know whether you'd see the paint, we have some glow in the dark paint (not for fabric) that you can hardly see apart from in the dark but I don't know whether the fabric paint would be more puffy/plasticy?

Glow in the dark stars and glue them on?

Sallyhasleftthebuilding · 24/11/2015 13:31

Hot glue gun would work.

After some more research I believe you can see the paint so, I'm thinking of getting a dress that has an underskirt ( where she will draw) and tulle over it with some glowing stars there. And after all that hopefully it won't look too bad to wear in public 😉. Any other ideas?

Yes I have seen some mini fairy lights designed to decorate clothes, you wear them with a battery.
In a catologue somewhere, I did buy some as a gift for such a purpose, went down a storm apparently.

Oohhh Giant linkSmile

HelloPuppyCallingYou · 24/11/2015 21:23

Ohh she would love some fairy lights in her clothesGrin. Something like this Fairy lights ?
Maybe 2 dresses, add the lights to her Christmas one, and the glow in the dark kit for Christmas.
