Sorting present suggestions for fil- he prefers that I give him links and he clicks and buys. For dss I've suggested a hoodie, as last years super dry one was a massive hit. But I've left it late, there's no zip up ones left on the website, are there any other brands that are acceptable? I could suggest an over the head one, but he's quite a sturdy build.

I think it's definitely a case of asking beforehand at his age. FWIW 11yo DS loves his Gap hoodie, but I suspect that has a limited lifespan :o

Mine likes Superdry as well, but he also likes Hollister, Abercrombie, Joules and Napapijri, the last one mainly from doting grandparents. Fat Face sweatshirts have been brilliant quality so far and wash really well, we've found their sizing is nice and generous for a boy waiting for a growth spurt.

Vans, Jack Wills, Adidas, Nike, Superdry, Hollister all good here.
Yes, not GAP.

CPtart · 25/11/2015 13:06

..also, North Face very "in" too.

bigTillyMint · 25/11/2015 13:56

Oh yes, DS just got a North Face puffa - VERY pleased with itGrin

DH wears GAP so old it's retro. Nuff saidWink

Gap (or anywhere non brandy) would be ok if a small unobtrusive logo, just not GAP so huge across the front is a big no.
a shame as they are great quality hoodies.

yy to Nike/Adidas being street not chavvy here too
Also into Rascal which is the F2 football merchandise
SuperDry, Hollister and Jack Wills all a bit too try hard for DS

He wouldn't wear Gap if I paid him

Great thread. Marking my place. My 11y old DS is very happy with his Johnie B (Boden) hoodie but I suspect this won't be the case when he's a proper teen ;-)

Lozza1990 · 25/11/2015 14:52

Jack wills is similar to superdry

Branleuse · 25/11/2015 14:59

my 14 year old couldnt give a shit about what brand his clothes are. I didnt realise how lucky I was.

WiryElevator · 25/11/2015 15:55

My DS (12), cares very much. He has always been bothered about how others perceive the way he looks. It's the way he is. I remember him refusing to wear a puffer coat I bought for him when he was 7 as he thought it made him look fat.

I would never dream of belittling anyone with a DC that is bothered by this sort of thing, as I know how excruciating it is for DS.

Nephews are 16,17 and have asked for super dry. Also like French connection, vans, yes baker.

LynetteScavo · 25/11/2015 17:47

My 12yo had just asked for another SuperDry coat, is I guess theyre still on around here..,,
