What will you and your family be doing on Christmas Eve?

I almost prefer Christmas Eve to the actual day itself - just all the anticipation, snuggled up together and being all cosy.

We will probably just have a nice walk and hot chocolate somewhere before coming home, putting ds and dd to bed and then opening up a bottle of wine and sharing a nice cold meat, pickles and salad kinda tea.

What about you?

Prep in the morning....................

Lunch in town.

Snowman DVD.

Childrens service.

Home, glass of wine, quick nap.

Midnight Mass for me, (reading)

Hecky thump the day is gone.

We always take kids to zoo to see santa they love it and walking round zoo tires them out have lunch at zoo, drop off any presents to local friends/family we wont see on the day and go home in time to watch The Snowman!! I have to work 6pm till midnight this year but dh will put kids in Cnhristmas PJs ( a tradition now) and send me a pic at work!!!!! I do prefer this day to the big one too!!!! All the anticipation, i will then wake up every hour through the night until kids do!!!!!! I dont know who gets more excited!!!!

Going to get my grandad and take him to my mum's so he can spend christmas with us for a change. Then probaly rushing around like a blue a*sed fly as usual.

Tommy · 10/12/2006 23:05

church in morning (also celebrating last Sunday of Advent!), visit my Mum in afternoon for her birthday and then Christmas Mass early evening - DSs go to bed and we have dash around like headless chickens trying to wrap presents and get ready for going to Ils the next day!

Kbear · 10/12/2006 23:07

Making mince pies with the kids - it's become our tradition. Afternoon spent hoovering up flour! We're having my family round for dinner I think. Bit of santa-tracking on the Norad website then bed early! Yeah, like that'll happen!

I love Christmas Eve.

dmo · 10/12/2006 23:11

PeachyIsNowAChristmasFruit · 10/12/2006 23:11

We get to take over a conservatory at the local pub, have a huge family meal and dad will try and get all the daughters and sons in law pissed.

I never do though for I am a miserable cow. Oh and coz I tend to vomit when pissed.
