I've had a frankly shitty year and am really looking forward to Christmas.

I thought a non-stressful Christmassy activity a day would be lovely to prepare for December 25.

Anyone fancy joining in?

I'm planning a mix of easy crafts, some carols etc or some festive food and drink to make me feel more festive and less frazzled!

No Nativity or childrens plays this year for us which is a shame.Sad
Yesterday I managed to get a massive Christmas shop done(presents still no food)did get some funny looks with DH pushing me round in my wheelchair whilst I had tons of shopping bags on my lap.I may have been very wicked and played along to the sympathetic looks I was given and the evil eye husband kept getting.Xmas Grin I did tell them after was that I was fine though, managed to make a few people that looked really fed up laugh.

Wrapped all what we bought yesterday apart from 2 things today.Last of the bits for the charity shops dropped off, last of youngest DD's cards wrote and some last minute bits of decorating done.

I can't believe our children break up this Friday Xmas Shock

I still haven't actually managed to do wrapping either!

So my plan for today is:

Some leisurely wrapping

With a proper sellotape dispenser, some decorations and nice music, a calm hour of wrapping would be really lovely I think!

One week until Christmas Eve...

Found out this morning that a well known company have let us down on DS14 main present,I ordered and paid for it a week ago and they took the money straight away,no email,no phone call,no sorry.Only found out today after checking a bank account and seeing the money had gone back in.So need to souce his main present from somewhere else now.

Managed to get nearly all the Christmas food shop done today. It was so quiet I thought we'd stepped into the twilight zone,no traffic,no queues even in M&S and they were handing out free mulled wine, chocolate truffles and puff pasty mince pies which all tasted lovely Xmas Smile

Youngest DD took in the last of her cards and all of her presents for her friends today, second oldest had his last day of college and made his tutors day with the present he'd bought him.

Going to have a relaxing evening once the children are all in bed tonight, something nice to eat and a drink or 2.

Sorry to hear that holidays.

I was desperate to get a particular board game for my DNs and have realised it's sold out in nearly every place- will have to go hunting for it over the weekend.

I am ACTUALLY wrapping presents tonight! With ribbons and everything!

Thanks Bang,we'd struggled finding a replacement but have managed to find one today and ordered it,just worrying about it turning up on time now.

Is it the Pie face game?

Last day of school for our DC today and apart from ordering a replacement gift for DS14 we haven't managed to get anything else done today.

Well done with the wrapping, hope yours is easier than mine.I usually manage to loose everything I need in the middle of wrapping anything.

bangbangprettypretty · 19/12/2015 11:04

Haha yes it's Pie Face!!

bangbangprettypretty · 20/12/2015 21:58

Thanks holidays... No luck so far!!

My festive thing today was A MOMENT OF PEACE.

Put on Home Alone while huddling under a blanket! Five days to go...

Tomorrow's task will be: A last dash to the shops! Definitely going to have a pumpkin spice latte or similar, fingers crossed I'll get everything done and can have a bit of quiet time as I can feel a cold and sore throat coming on Sad[santa]

Oh no,I hope you manage to find it.

We've had some brilliant news my Dad is out of hospital. My DH popped round today to check on my Dad and give him his Christmas cards.

Yesterday DH and 5DC went and visited my Best friend and her partner in they're new home. She laid on loads of lovely food and drinks and made us all the nicest cards I've ever seen and spent far to much on presents for us.

I couldn't go SadI've had a flu type illness for nearly 3 weeks now and sadly it's not showing any signs of going yet.

We've managed to order some more presents and I've wrapped another one and I bought 4 little minature Christmas trees and they've been stuck in the front garden with some lights on them.

Vistaverde · 21/12/2015 20:16

holidays, good news about your Dad, sorry you are ill though. I hope you are well enough to enjoy Friday.

I forget to post each day but we I am still doing something each day. I finished work on Friday so today I have helped DS make and paint some salt dough coasters for my parents. I am not generally a very crafty person so was trying to find something simple and it was.

ohtheholidays · 21/12/2015 21:23

Vista Thank you.

The craft you've done sounds lovely,I bet your parents will love them Xmas Smile

Managed to order loads more presents today,I just have a few little bits to pick up from the shops tomorrow and then as soon as everything else gets delivered I can get it all wrapped.

Sorted and made up the 3 Dogs stockings today, they're massive I'd forgot most of the stuff I'd bought for them, need to get some more bits for the Cat,my Dad and Brothers Dogs and the 3 Rabbits and Hamster,I can pick that all up tomorrow.

Can't believe Christmas is this week it just seems to have flown by.Xmas Grin

bangbangprettypretty · 21/12/2015 22:39

Glad your dad is out of hospital, Holidays. Vista your crafts sound lovely!

Made a pan of mulled wine for DH and I when he got home from work which was really lovely today. I'm not feeling great (really gooey!) with a sore throat, and had a crap night's sleep as I kept waking myself up coughing!

Going to try to see some Christmas lights tomorrow I think!

Hello Xmas Grin

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve already Xmas Shock poor DH got back from tesco just before 2 am this morning,he said it was mad in there, loads of people and only 4 tills open and most of the shelves were empty.

DH nipped to Lidl earlier and said that it was quieter in there than it normally is at the weekend, managed to pick up another present for each of our 4 oldest DC.

He's doing battle in Asda now bless him whilst I watch Fred Claus with the children.

I've colored my hair this morning and stripped all of the 6 beds, washing nearly all done, just need to make up 3 hampers when DH gets back one each for my Dad and big brother and a massive one we've done for my nephews 2 little girls and 2 little boys and I have the last few bits to stick in DH's stocking and then I'm all done.

Hope everyone else's Christmas Eve is going well.
