where to get the best crackers?

I'm looking for some decent crackers to buy this year. I'm kind of sick of the cheap cheap ones with rubbishy plastic stuff that no one ever likes. But haven't been able to find any nicer ones that are good for children, most of the more expensive ones have tie pins, card holders, pens etc in them.

I saw John Lewis have a set of 8 which contain chime bars which go together to make a set. They seem quiet cool and I will probably get some for one of our Christmas meals ( we have 2 to do due to separated pil.)

Anyone got any good ideas. I know you can get some fill your own ones. But I'm still a bit lost as to what I would put in them if I got them!

Help me oh wise mumsnetters!

If you order from the website, John Lewis have some great ones on their website.

I've seen ones with modelling balloons, modelling clay and magic tricks in, among others.

I've ordered the giant hotel chocolat one that is full of 40 chocs as it went down really well last year. Quite pricey but lots of fun opening it

Try www.houseofcrackers.co.uk - they have the widest range and the greatest contents for make-your-own. They also seem like nice people. Disclaimer - they don't ship out of the UK so I couldn't use them in the end and I don't know for certain they live up to my expectations.
