I have decided to buy a real tree this year; we don't do much else in the way of decorations apart from making a wreath for the door and a few old, family bits dotted around so fancy the smell and look of a proper one

Recommendations and tips for keeping it looking the best it can for approx two weeks; ta!

We always get a nordmann fir. They are a lovely colour, the needles aren't sharp and they don't drop off the tree unlike other species.

I have never bothered with watering the tree, so I don't know how much longer it would last than if not watering, but I have been happy with my tree being up for two weeks or so. It does help if the room is cool.

Totally agree with nordman fir. Ours lasts 3.5 weeks in a pretty warm room, with me forgetting to water it.

Nordmann Fir it is then; thank you both
