I've been experimenting lately Thanks Pinterest and have cracked Fudge making.

Vanilla fudge, chocolate fudge, peanut- butter fudge are all delicious and have been thoroughly tested by DH and DC.

I want to give them as gifts to friends and family and want Ideas on packing. I thought of Kilner jars? Not sure though.

Any ideas?

Kilner jars would be practical but not very original. How about making your own boxes to fit a couple of layers of fudge? Boxes are really easy to make and you can create your own branding and have a bit of fun (photos of your year? Your DC?).

Fudgr sounds like a app that hooks you up with local fudge.

If you don't want to spend a fortune, Lakeland do cellophane treat bags in packs of 20 - this year there are 3 different Xmas patterns. Tied off with curling ribbon, they look quite pretty.

Ooh please can you share your recipes? I'm doing a couple of mini homemade hampers. Thanks!

Have found that pieces can get stuck together in bags so boxes probably better unless it's going to be eaten v quickly. Can I ask what recipe you're using? I fancy making some fudge and am a bit bored with the white choc and cranberry one.

terrible obvs. And means you just have to eat in huge lumps. What tends to happen is I set off with intention of making gift and then have to eat it ourselves as presentation a bit wonky. Hard times.

There are loads of bags on the Internet. I think fudge will stick together unless you dust it lightly first.

I think Ill go for boxes - layers separated by greaseproof paper. I'm sure I've seen boxes to assemble in Home Bargains....

I use the recipes using carnation condensed milk from Pinterest and the condensed milk website. They are so easy!

A bit of an aside, but how tricky are homemade truffles?

Truffles v easy - basically just melted choc and cream and then cooled. You can just roll up into balls and dust with icing sugar or cover in chocolate. Covering in choc a bit more tricky (esp if you want to cover dark choc inside in white choc). But I just freeze the rolled up balls and then work fairly quickly. They look and taste nice even if you don't bother with tempering to make choc coating shiny (I have never bothered). My favourites are tea flavoured milk chocolate - you just put a tea bag in the cream and warm it gently before adding chocolate. Works with any kind of flavouring (cinnamon nice too).
