How old are they? Are they active/do hobbies, or stay at home types? Any pets? I'm just trying to think of things to give you somewhere to start iyswim.
A calendar or diary maybe?
One of those fabric "armchair dogs" that hold the remotes for the tv?
Photos of any grandchildren in a nice frame?
Afternoon tea voucher for somewhere nice nearby?

How about a magazine? For adults, I tend to add some mini toiletries, socks, something to read and some specialist coffee or tea

MIL - sample sized hand cream, cotton gloves (v cheap on Amazon), lip balm, magazine, small frame with pic of kids, satsuma, nice-ish pen, scented tea light,....

FIL - puzzle magazine, socks, trial size shower gel, satsuma, rubiks cube, nice-ish pen, little pot of nice coffee/tea, gloves

I'm doing stocking also this year, so far I have -

DM - foldaway bag from paperchase, rod Stewart cd, some cadburys marvellous creations chocolate bars, mini Bayliss and Harding gift set... And there must be some other things I've forgotten

DF - socks, hankies, the Crays DVD, some American sweets... Again there must be more I can't think of.

I bought them both lovely stockings from M&S, quite expensive but hopefully will be used every year now [santa]

So sorry for not coming back sooner
No pets, they love travel and gardening
Puzzle book, gardening gloves and photo of the kids now on the list.. Brilliant, thanks
Bag of nuts and nutcracker found today in John Lewis
So tricky, boys so much easier...

Df is similar so is an (absolute) nightmare so he has got - some architecture drawing pens (oddly in b&m bargins), a jar of nicer brand than normal instant coffee, a book mark, normally he gets a coffee mug, a couple of book, gloves, shower gel, shaving cream stuff. Normally also get the most update edition of lonely planet guide of where they are going on holiday.

(That a bit of a disorganised post!)

Packets of seeds for the garden?
John Lewis do little box quizzes, a lot are travel based..
A diary (again could be gardener based).

CoffeeChocolateWine · 23/11/2015 13:58

Nice tea bags/coffee beans
Christmas chutney and/or marmalade
Flower seeds
Book
Earrings if M has pierced ears
Hand cream
Novelty soap
Gift card for somewhere
Chocs
Cuff links/tie pin
Socks
Bottle opener
Some kind of mini trivia game?

CoffeeChocolateWine · 23/11/2015 14:00

Bottle of ale/mini baileys/mini whiskey or similar?

HindsightisaMarvellousThing · 23/11/2015 14:06

Pop a rolled magazine or two (reflecting their interests) in the top of the stocking - fills it up nicely IME.

Donge13 · 23/11/2015 14:16

Seeds, gardening gloves, hand cream, hand wash, candle, magazine, puzzle book, bubble bath, magazine, sewing kit, bird feed, gardening diary, address book, gloves, socks.
