Does anybody buy for charities

One of our department stores K mart, has a WISHING TREE ... Place a gift under their tree. Other stores do the same sort of thing.
So, don't forget someone who might not get much. Happy Christmas

Our local supermarket does the same, closer to Christmas: the local radio station does an appeal every Christmas, for the kids who otherwise would not get gifts, and you can put toys into a trolley at Asda for them.

I think it's a really nice idea - at school, we used to have a Christmas service, where we each had to take a toy (new or used) that went under the tree and was then distributed to the local children's home (shows you how long ago it was!).
