Am hoping someone can help I'd like to get a Xmas dress for dd1, she's actually 4 but in 5-6 clothes. She gets really hot so lots of the jumper style are out & it only has to look scratchy for it to be a complete refusal. Ideally it would be a material like a t shirt / top so I guess jersey & as I'm not keen on Xmas clothes post Xmas not too expensive. Am running out of ideas of where to look thanks

Next have a few sweatshirt / long sleeved tops in which aren't itchy or too hot.

Vintage1980 · 21/11/2015 15:07

Meant to say they might be ok with a nice skirt or shorts with tights.

This looks like nothing on the screen, but my friend has bought it in red (in the shop) and says it is really lovely on and not at all fussy. Perfect teamed with plain tights :)

I got DD same age / size / fabric fussiness a jersey dress with tutu skirt from Primark, it is a light grey with lots of sparkly silver stars. That's her main Christmas outfit.

And a cute long sleeve top with robins and Christmassy patterns from Tesco to go with a red skirt she already has - £5

I love the supermarket ranges, cute/practical/cheap makes good sense to me!

kiwidreamer · 21/11/2015 15:18

Matalan also falls into same category!

Sainsbury's have some lovely little dress/tunic and leggings sets, could be worth trying there.

This is nice and scratchy bit is all at the bottom :):

Thank you feeling much more hopeful have more ideas to try, especially the tutu type skirts with a top, will also look in matalan & George hadn't thought of either.

Joules have some lovely jersey dresses on a deal 3 for £35.

I'm having a terrible time finding some casual dresses ie thin jumper dresses in size 6-7. I normally shop in Gap or next for them but she's now in the 'older girls' section and all styles seem too old for a 5yr old.

LaughingHyena · 21/11/2015 16:20

Second Tesco, they have some nice long sleeved T shirts this year. Also quite a few which were winter rather than all out Christmas themes.

MummyPig24 · 21/11/2015 16:52

H&M have some lovely dresses, velvet ones for only £10. I got dd a pink and gold one that has a matching dolls dress with it.

Morrisons have some nice Christmas long sleeve t shirts and leggings and skirts for that age. Don't think you can get them online, just in store.

Boden have this lovely dress on sale for £14. (Navy option.) Free postage with code 4B6N. www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Girls-1H-12yrs-Dresses/Day-Dresses/33376/Girls-1H-12yrs-Broderie-Dress.html

That's exactly like my dd. I usually get her a tutu skirt, H&M often have some lovely ones, with a nice tshirt.
