4 of us this year, our table is an oak square with enough room for 4 but not much space in the middle once the table is laid.

I'd love a tasteful festive table, how do you dress yours? Tablecloth or runner or both? What else?

I do runners, plate chargers and coasters and a couple of tea lights in holders . (And crackers, of course). By the time all the pretty lights are lit (tree and the ones in hurricane lamps, candles, etc), the room looks festive enough. Leaving plenty of table room for FOOD!

I change my table colour theme every year (last year was pale blue)

I'm using my cream tablecover, gold runner, gold coasters (I have 4 gold platemats but we have 8 for dinner) .
Gold stars on the table
Candle in a hurricane vase
Candles
Gold wrapped sweets in a large glass

Candles should be crackers [pah]

A candle in the middle with a Christmas themed decoration and chocolate money on the table. Bright, festive and takes up almost no room.

Table runner. Charger plates. Place mats. Candles and crackers
