Question from DH really - are these any good and would they be suitable as Chrimbo pressie for 11 year DD?

I have bought the LittleBits Space and arduino kits for DS for Christmas, so haven't actually opened them yet. The boxes are fairly small compared to the price paid, and say they are suitable from age 14. DS is 9, however, DH is an electronics engineer, and I can programme arduinos, so hopefully between us we can help if needed.
