Elf on the Shelf Ideas

We're doing Elf on the Shelf for the first time this year, DS will be 10 months and won't have a clue but DD at 3.9 will love it. What have your little ones enjoyed? So far I have:

• rolling down the stairs in a toilet roll
• sticking Santa hats on the family photos
• 'snow' angels in icing sugar
• peppermint poo in the loo
• a date with Barbie drinking maple syrup from the bottle with straws
• reading a Christmas story to a variety of teddies/dolls
• leaving sticky Christmas bows all over the kitchen cupboards
• fishing for bath toys in the sink

Hee hee! Love it! I'm doing it this year for the first time, so will be reading this thread with interest
How do you plan to introduce your elf?

This is our 3rd year here is a list of some of our stuff, plus look at Facebook page Christmas elf antics for ideas,

Turn milk green
lol roll the tree
Socks on tree
Playing with dinosaurs
Treasure hunt set up
Colouring in their colouring books
Sneaked in their beds for cuddles
Trashed the bathroom (wipe able pens on tiles/talc angels etc)
Northpole breakfast/tea party

I found a lovely poem on an old thread so I'll put that in a box with the elf and their advent calendars and I wanted to have it on the table for DD the kids to open with the table laid for a North Pole Breakfast when they come downstairs (Christmas paper plates, snowman pancakes, strawberry and banana candy canes etc). Ideally this would be on December 1st but that's a Tuesday and DH leaves for work at 6:45am, so I think we'll maybe do it on the Sunday and the elf will start making mischief ready for Tuesday morning clearly not overthinking the whole thing at all

This is our third year with Elf on the Shelf, (DS is now 4, DD is almost 2) things that have worked well so far are:

Shoe race with other toys (like a sack race)
Covering the entire downstairs toilet room with toilet paper
Hiding in the fridge (they miss the cold of the North Pole)
Putting up Christmas tree but getting tangled in the lights
Setting up the wooden train set
Hanging from light fittings
Building towers out of Lego
Having story time with other toys
Having 'parties' with other toys
Colour your own decorations with elves started colouring
Sticking Christmas stickers everywhere

Other traditional our elves do (we have two, one for each DC) is to arrive with advent calendars & Christmas pj's (to get a whole month wear out of them), and on Christmas Eve they leave a basket of goodies - nice relaxing bath bomb, reindeer food, dvd to watch, new book for bedtime etc.
