looking for starter ideas please (for 9), ideally something where the prep can be done earlier in the day/day before.

Main course will be Nigellas Ham in Coke, Dauphinoise potatoes, green beans and braised red cabbage with apples in cider

Puddings - Mince Pies, something chocolatey and something of the kids choice.
