DS1 (15) Blank sheet of paper
DS2 (14) 3 computer games

:(

I've usually done all my shopping and wrapping by now but I have nothing except a few books, a new phone case each and Pjs.

They just have everything and are good at taking care of their stuff so nothing needs replaced.

I looked at my two the other day (15 & 16) and realised that they have everything they need... and want. They aren't spoilt by any means, but we just don't need any more 'stuff' in the house.

So I've ordered a big trampoline, for all of us, from the man in red Grin.

bloodyteenagers · 14/11/2015 19:16

That's usually what I give mine along woth some smelly stuff that's not usually in the bathroom, makeup for the girls, eyeliner for the boys, piercing replacements and top up with cash.. The cash they then save for something they really really want.

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:16

We have an invisible trampoline in the back garden - the most action it's had for the last few years is DH and I shifting it about to cut the grass!

Mine have a lot of stuff but they aren't spoilt - hence the lack of things on the lists.

Ahh at least they arent greedy!

What about a monthly cinema pass? Is it Vue or Cineworld that do those?

wanderingwondering · 14/11/2015 19:20

Cinema/theatre/concert/sports tickets?

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:20

We only use plain unscented soap and shampoo (allergies) so we don't bother with smellies at Christmas. They are not into piercings or make up of tattoos or fashion or clothes in general.

I'm not doing money as despite having no list they would be disappointed with no presents on the day and also DS1 is tighter than a badger's arse and spends nothing. He has plenty of money. DS2 would spend it in dribs and drabs so I am happy to include a money or steam voucher in amongst his things.

OP posts:
myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:23

Our cineam doesn't do a pass but would do a voucher but they aren't really into socialising tbh. they don't do sport either.

They basically do school, Scouts, DofE (have all the gear after years of scouting) and Gaming. Both have gaming PCs and consoles and handhelds/tablets and phones so don't need any tech.

DS1 mentioned a while ago about maybe getting a new keyboard or mouse so that's a possibility.

Magazine subscription?

Vouchers specifically for Xbox, PS, Apple, whatever?

Experience?

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:25

Thanks, no, they are anything but greedy - since they realised that Santa doesn't supply the gifts and that DH and I do they've been increasingly reluctant to ask for anything.

Redecorate their bedroom (if they want), a gaming chair?

A really decent waterproof/outdoor coat (Rab or Buffalo)?

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:27

Yes, I can renew a couple for magazine subscriptions and will give a Steam voucher too and check if anyone needs xbox live or whatever renewed, thanks.

Experiences are difficult as we don't live near many places that offer that sort of thing. So things like Junior driving lessons would involve a 3-4 round trip so it simply isn't worth it.

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:31

They got their rooms done for birthdays a couple of years ago. We were planning on getting someone in to paint next summer, but they don't need furniture or bedding or anything.

DS1 got a new chair for the PC last Christmas and DS2 got one for his birthday in the Summer. We have a couple of the rocker type chairs but they don't use them and they are therefor just lying in the spare room.

DS1 would like a bigger bedroom but that's not happening as the only bigger one is mine and DHs and that's not big either.

What about a Box Set each? They could watch together if into the same stuff

SuburbanRhonda · 14/11/2015 19:35

Age 14 and 15 and they don't socialise? Hmm

VulcanWoman · 14/11/2015 19:37

Cold hard cash.

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:39

What's the eyebrow for Rhonda? Not all teens are into the same stuff. They do on-line gaming with friends and they do some stuff with scouts but don't meet up with friends for Cinema trips really or hang about town or the park.

We have netflix and they have access to Youtube - DS2 likes Anime stuff but I don't think DS1 watches anything.

VulcanWoman · 14/11/2015 19:41

suburban everyone is different, thank goodness, Hmm

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:41

With cash, DS1 would just put it in the bank with his other money and not spend it. They get cash from relatives so the only actual gifts they get are from us.

DS2 used to be a bit of a splash cash when he was younger but he isn't so much now.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/11/2015 19:46

cold hard cash

DS prefers the soft papery foldy cash, preferably those nice burgandy pink ones Xmas Grin

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:48

Are those 3d pens any good? thinking DS1 might like one of those.

OP posts:
bigbuttons · 14/11/2015 19:49

all mine want cash.

myotherusernameisbetter · 14/11/2015 19:51

What do they want the cash for rather than telling you the things they want and you buying it and wrapping it up? Do they enjoy the shopping experience too?

OP posts:
CharleyDavidson · 14/11/2015 19:56

My nearly 15yo dd doesn't socialise. Or, at least, all her socialising is done at school and on the leisurely walk home from school, where she goes via a friend's house to chat on the way.

Then she's in for the evening for homework and to chill out. She won't arrange to see friends at the evenings or in the hols - not even in the 6 week Summer break. She's happy in her own company, writing her novels and chilling out.

Doesn't bother me. :)

She's having a new bag for school and a matching purse (that I managed to get her to pick on a shopping trip in half term) , a DVD or 2, a CD she has actually asked for and a few toiletries/makeup things.

There may be a bit of money too, unless she actually wants something.

DD2 is 11. The only thing she's asked for is one of those machines that peels and slices an apple.

They are easily pleased!

madwomanbackintheattic · 14/11/2015 19:57

There are always new camp/ adventure gadgets that can be found. Better firelighting steels? Lighter weight tent? Different stoves or cookset? (I have my eye on a jet oil and am asking Santa nicely) Teeny tiny wee LED lantern to replace torch? (Mine is about two inches high and gives enough light to fill a backpacking tent). New boots, hiking socks? Rucksack cover?

Do they play Magic the gathering? My 14yo always wants new cards/ playmat/ multicoloured sleeves?

Any Comic Con near you? Tickets always sought after, here.
