Ds hasn't expressed the remotest interest in a Wii and doesn't even know what one is (it's a new games console for anyone who doesn't know, release date today) but we have one for him for Christmas, which arrived today. Ds will totally love it, as will dh.

But they're selling for ?500 odd on ebay, so that's a ?300 profit, shall I flog it and get ds something else? And get dh a Wii after Christmas when they're ?180 again?

Votes please, what would you do? (we don't need the cash as such but it's SUCH an easy ?300, that's my car insurance for the YEAR!)

Sell it, Your not forcing people to buy it are you. Their choice to buy. Dont forget P & P .

Hideehi · 09/12/2006 11:16

I'd sell it, not like you've bought up all the food and water and are selling it back to people, they don't NEED this but if they want it they will have to pay won't they.

I wouldn't because you can bet as soon as you do you're son will be pleading for one for xmas.

Glitterygookwithchocsonthetree · 09/12/2006 14:39

Sell it and get another one at shop price after Christmas.

Nobody paying silly money on ebay is having their arm twisted - it's their choice. They could easily wait till after Christmas.

fatwoman · 15/12/2006 01:24

i'll buy it off you. not for £500 though. they're going on ebay for about £300 now I think. I really want to get one for dh but wary of getting ripped off on ebay with that much money. (am hatwoman btw)

just noticed that this was nearly a week ok.

wickedwinterwitch · 25/12/2006 14:30

Just updating this to say we didn't sell it and it was a massive hit this morning, ds is thrilled and can't quite believe he's got such an amazing thing. I approve too, it's physical and rather nice, much better than PS2 imo.

So it was def the right thing to do not to sell it! Happy Christmas.

www - I got one off ebay in the end. did pay extra, obvioulsy, but within the bounds of what I knew dh valued it at, iyswim. it was a complete headache - like a game of chicken - left it as late as I dared cos I reckoned the price would drop. then the next day after I'd bidded for it and won - bloody amazon got more in, and a number of other shops - met a friend for a drink who greeted me with a cheery smile and an HMV bag with a WII in it!. Then I panicked about whether or not I'd get the receipt - combined with all the fuss about "wiinjuries". and the seller was at a wedding in South Africa and didn;t respond to my emails! (his poor old dad was doing all his postage for him !) so I wondered wehther to traipse round town and see if I could find some of this second wave - complete with receipt (was going to sell ebay one to our builder!) anyway, turned out ok, ebay included receipt. but I had several sleepless nights over this sodding thing and then I snapped at dh for playing it too much!

Oh gawd Hatwoman, what a mare, I'm glad you got one in the end, it was all hype wasn't it? I have asked dh, who is playing it with ds, FOUR times to bath dd and he's ignoring me...I could go off it

yes it was - will go and look at that thread. it was all a nightmare but turned out ok. the receipt that I was loosing sleep over nearly got thrown away with the wrapping paper but I retrieved it. of course now I've worried so much about it, it won't go wrong, but that's good!

FredBassett · 26/12/2006 16:30

I flogged mine today for £250
