pref that I can order online. books? clothes? (but if clothes it has to be something fairly non-sized as I think she's big for her age)

high school musical dvd,and cd, hannah montana cd, cheetah girls cd (think you might need ebay for that one). All the year 6s at dd's school think they are one of the characters from these shows!!! Or if you're a super cool and generous type, Beyonce's tour is next year - get 3 tickets, one for her, one for her friend and one for you/her mum??? Sorry, that's a bit too generous actually - got overexcited thinking (wishing) I was 10 again!!!!!! DD just went to her 1st school disco - just got home, giddy as anything. Someone in year 4 can break dance!!! Bless...

High School Musical is great for kids, really age appropriate stuff. Not like nasty Bratz! It's a disney film that was shown on the disney channel in sept, it came out in the U.S in jan and has gone mental all over the world - I loved it, (so did DH!). It's a love story and it's a musical and it's really sweet, honest!

The Ruby In The Smoke is fab but I think as a series, they are a bit "old" for a 9 to 10 year old. There is a (very nicely done I hasten to add) sex scene in one of them and a child born "out of wedlock". I'd hang fire until 11-12 tbh. Another series that (imho) is better for that age is "Mortal Engines" series by (I think) Philip Reeve (gripping fantasy though quite violent in places) or The Spiderwick Chronicles (a bit "younger").
