The Lego Store - Do they do Black Friday?

I missed Black Friday last year as I was away. Was wondering whether the Lego Store did any deals and are therefore likely to repeat that this year? The stuff in there is ££ and often cheaper elsewhere but I'm after a big set that doesn't seem to be on sale anywhere else. If anyone can remember (or has insider knowledge about this year's event) I'd appreciate a reply.

They always tend to offer 10% off online (not sure if in stores too) the last weekend in November

Holstein · 13/11/2015 00:07

Some Lego is currently discounted on John Lewis, and Amazon, and Toys R Us.
Which set are you after?

fairyjasmine · 13/11/2015 15:21

Ooh that's good to know Lighthouse. I'm planning an order from them at the end of November, when the gingerbread house freebie offer kicks in, so I hope the discount will work with the free gift offer. They are definitely pricier than places like Amazon but when you factor in VIP points, Quidco cashback and free gifts, it does lessen the blow somewhat.

Excellent, thank you Lighthouse. I'm after one of the big Creator sets which only seems to be on the Legostore site and as fairyjasmine says there are vip points and quidco available too so hopefully I can reduce the price a bit!

Yes they do - Brick Friday - but the discount can vary. Nothing has been announced for this year yet, but they have confirmed that you will get a rather lovely Lego gingerbread house free with any purchase over £60. Just out of curiosity, which creator set are you getting (far too interested in Lego thanks to DS....)

LaundryFairy · 13/11/2015 16:19

Ah - see that fairy jasmine mentioned th gingerbread house too! And I think they will be throwing in a 2016 calendar if you spend £15.

katienana · 13/11/2015 16:20

What's the freebie?

LaundryFairy · 13/11/2015 16:27

Here is the gingerbread house:

And here are all of the details of the offer

Year before last they did a random discount in store - 10 or 20 or 50 percent I think. Of course almost everyone got 10 but it was still fun.

Holstein · 13/11/2015 18:23

Aw, no. I've already spent about £250 on Lego!

atticusclaw2 · 13/11/2015 18:28

You need to be really careful if you're planning on lego for Christmas. They've put out a warning that they will be unable to fulfil orders this year due to extraordinary demand.

If you have DCs wanting particular sets I would order sooner rather than later.

if you can bear to buy the Daily Wail tomorrow they are giving away a decent Lego toy at WH Smith- makes a good stocking filler

Thanks Gatekeeper. I bought one this morning for the freebie, stuck it straight in the recycling bin and felt so guilty that I bought a Big Issue later in the day.
