Usually christmas cards, tree, door wreath and a garland along the mantlepiece. This year nothing as we are moving the week before christmas either 22nd or 23rd (I hope). So no point .

We usually only have a tree, but this year we have got a garland for our mantelpiece and a wreath to go above it (can't put it on the door, too windy up here!). Dh is happy for me to put cards up but not sure if I will or not.

Tree so far and some tinsel around the picture frames. Have had to put our one and only xmas card up high as ds chewed most of it.

anything and everything goes up, huge tree, decs on ceiling, cards everywhere, tinsel on pics frames and fire and tvand doorframe, lights in window and garland on fireplace

Usually have tree, cards on card holder either side of the fire, garland round fireplace, and often get real holly as well.
The woman across the road has lots of those draping things hanging from corner to corner, and then bell shaped things in the corners. Then she has paper chains all along the walls, and up the stairs as well.
I never bother with those kind of tthings

Tree and cards in living room, some Xmas ornament things on Mantel/dining table/sideboard.

hatwoman · 08/12/2006 19:51

tree, christmas cards, I drape several things over the mantel piece including a thin sliver wire thing with little glass beads on, some strings of small pale gold stars, some bigger silver stars made of willow (ish stuff, more likely), some clear glass baubles (iridescent - they look like bubbles) and some white lights, I hang the stockings up, I put a mix of baubles (in pinks, red and orange) and fir cones in glass vases and some in a big glass bowl along with a candle, I have just today bought some lovely candles (pink, red, orange and lime green) which will got dotted around. We also have some rather cutesy ornament types things (small snowmen and reindeer iirc) that live on the hearth

and a wreath on the front door and a couple of seasonal vases of flowers - usually with thoselovely red berries you get, that aren't holly

TinsellyRhino · 08/12/2006 19:54

we have a real tree and also a small (1 foot) fibre optic tree, we put lights on the little planted xmas tree outside the front dooor. we then have lights pinned up in the archway of our open plan frontroom/dining room and some cards on the wall in a card hanger thingy

We have a tree, garlands and lights along the mantlepiece with some lovely big white church candles, and a wreath on the door outside. I always get a poinsettia because they look so festive, even though whatever I do the leaves always drop off! We don't do tinsel or dangly gold foil things but last year for the first time we got some net-lights for the front window and they did look pretty good from outside. If dh had his way we would probably have a six-foot inflatable Homer Simpson on the front lawn, thank goodness they are so expensive

Have just put mine up this afternoon! Have a 6ft real tree, clear lights on mantlepiece with ornaments/candles and some lovely christmas stacking russian dolls that i found in edingburgh a couple of years ago. Cards in holders, bowl full of baubles on coffee table, lights in a glass vase and ornaments on dining room mantlepiece ..... would have loads more love christmas decorations but they cant be tacky!
