Hoping I can call upon the collective expertise on the MN Xmas shoppers.
DH would like a leather satchel for Xmas - big enough for his 17 inch laptop.
That's fine.
Except is has to be reasonably smart looking, black or brown, look like a satchel but have magnetic fasteners under the buckles as he can't be arsed unbuckling it all the time but likes the look of buckles..Oh, and he'd prefer leather and can it have a handle but also a shoulder strap?
Max budget £150. I have found the one below but wonder if I could do better?

The Aspinall one is bloody gorgeous. If it was for me we still couldn't afford it but I'd feel better about having it than spending £450 on DH
Noeuf and Fresh, nice satchels but they have buckles and he wants the LOOK of buckles but with the convenience of magnetic poppers underneath cos he's a picky sod.
Imperial, I like the cut of your jib but it is becoming a point of principle that I find something to brief.

The Dr Martens bags are nice looking (and would last) but no idea if they have metal fasteners underneath.

Do you have an Osprey outlet near you? They had some beauties at around £150.

From Neouf's suggestion: shoulder strap and magnetic catches with the look of buckles as standard for GBP140. Add a handle on the top as an option GBP148. Just in budget.

I hope that you end up with one that is just right!

However, please please can you get him one of these cartoon style satchels to open first, just so you can watch his face as he opens it

Sweary the concka baker is lovely; just missing the handle that DH requires

The Scaramanga bags are gorgeous but don't have the magnetic clips under the buckles....

The Zatchel bags are also fab but he took a quick look and said they were nice but a bit to "schooly" - ditto the Cambridge satchel company one and sadly, cos I love Dr Martens - those too - plus they have actual buckles.

The Osprey bags are also lush but a tad too pricey
