Christmas Crafts ideas

Dd turns four the week before christmas and id like a stash of craft ideas for the month to get us in the festive spirit.

So far ive a set of "make your own baubles" and "make your own stain glass window" from Wilkos and some star buscuits to decorate from IKEA.

Anyone got anything planned that I could incorporate?

Previously I have painted a big Christmas tree picture with my ds and let them loose with glitter and stickers once the paint is dry - that's a 2 day make!
Paper chains are always a winner.
Also I cut out the pictures from the wrapping paper and let them make a collage with the pictures and glue. That keeps them happy for ages! The bigger the paper the better!
Making Christmas cards for family, tags for the gifts, salt dough ones work well.
My boys are growing up fast and not into crafts so much these days, I'm envious of you!

Last year we collected loads of sticks of different lengths and tied them together into a Christmas tree shape. So shortest at the top, longest at the bottom.

We then hung it up and decorated it with hand made decorations.

And yes, I agree with frank, go on Pinterest and search for Christmas crafts for children. There are loads of ideas on there. Far more than you can do in one year. That's where the stick idea is from.

Mine uses to like making Christingles with oranges, cloves, bits of greenery and ribbons and glitter. They smell nice for a while until they go manky.
Also collecting pine cones to spray or glitter, gingerbread cookies, salt dough tree decorations, paper chains.

I live on Pinterest for crafty Christmas ideas (currently on Mat leave and need to save money) there are great things to do on there! Making tree decorations out of home made clay, making bird seed feeders for the garden etc. It's going to be a home made Christmas in my house for gifts this year!

DD (3) loves gingerbread houses when she sees them but is too little to make one properly yet - so I'm going to make these with her this year which I think look brilliant:

Angels, in paper chains ( like cutting out paper dolls in chains) and those circular angels which you can turn into decorations.

Paper snowflakes to cut and put on window.

Calendars as presents. Buy those tiny calendars that are about 50p in a downmarket stationer, dates only, and get her to draw a picture and stick the calendar on it. Lots of glitter opportunities.

Mint creams. Mint flavouring, water and icing sugar.

Biscuits, as decorations, or just to eat.

Pine cones. Go for a walk and collect them, then decorate with glitter...then use them as decorations.

Make your own wreath.

Make thank you cards.
