i'd quite like a photo for the album of dd and santa. but lets face it, she can't talk to him, probably won't even smile and generally won't get it... on the other hand, she did seem rather taken with the grotto at brent cross today. i considered taking her in but it was a bit..shit. so, to a good grotto - or not?

the trouble is, you're all right. i'd like a photo. she'll be nonplussed at best and there'll be queues and elves and things. shudder. i think getting out of the house for the first time in a week has gone to my head. maybe i'll calm down overnight.

I took my DS to visit Santa for the first time when he was about 9 months old and the pic i have is soooooo cute. He was totally amazed by the coloured lights etc and not at all fazed by the big bloke in the red suit and the beard.

I took J at 9.5 months! - have a fabby piccy of him crying holding a packet of tissues! lol. althou tbh it wasn't very expensive as it was done in the community centre. I guess it depends on how much it would be - if it was too much I wouldn't have taken him tbh - also our phototgrapher offered me my money back as J was crying but I had the piccy anyways so felt it only fair I paid

Im taking dd1 on sat, she's almost 3, i would'nt of taken her at a younger age, last year she even know it was christmas. This year she has asked to meet him so i will take her even though she may not want to go near him when we get there.

twickersmum · 08/12/2006 10:37

my dd's at 14 months and 2.10 freak out when they see a father christmas. so i wouldn't!
i just tell them "of course he's not the real one, he's far too busy doing everyone's presents. he's just a pretend one for the children to say hello to"
