Present for 2 year old ds, for about £10 - £15?

I am looking for suggestions, as his granny has asked me what she should buy.

Due to a lack of space, it would be best if it was non-bulky.

I would prefer it, if it wasn't the sort of thing people could add to constantly like Duplo, Happyland or a train set. Other than that I'm easily pleased!

Would really appreciate any help you could give with ideas.

I got DD a lovely wooden train set from Asda for £10-12 and it all packs away neatly into a little metal lunch box type case.

I was just tidying this away this evening and thinking what a well used toy it has been.
Tomy megasketcher from Argos, he could still play with it for at least 4 yrs. The pick on Argos doesn't do it justice its great fro free drawing and writing with no mess. About 13 quid.

Thally · 09/11/2015 00:35

Sorry about all the typos. Meant to say the picture on Argos doesn't do it justice.

BlueStarsAtNight · 09/11/2015 01:04

I think the megasketcher would be a good idea, or maybe some orchard toys games? My DS liked the shopping list game from about 2. Or else craft stuff like Playdoh, paints, an apron?

Jigsaws? My ds has some lovely Thomas ones

Aqua draw they are amazing small and keep toddlers amused for hours. Not sure on prices but i think a base one is 12-15 if I recall.

Thanks for answering.

I have just thought, ds would probably like a hobby horse, but has anyone seen / got a nice one that would be in budget?

I do really appreciate all ideas though, as I want to give his granny a list of ideas so she isn't pushed to give ds something that she really wouldn't have chosen, and doesn't really want to give.

Thanks Flowers

There are hobby horses for a fiver in both b&m and the works. I've also seen them in the entertainer for about £7 but may have been on sale.

Asd have some lovely wooden playsets at the moment, my dd has the cafe comes with little dolls and stuff. I thjnk they do a little garage too. But the best bit is all the stuff fits inside and packs away!!

my dd is 2 and she loves her hobby horse! She also loves fuzzy felt!!

my little girl is a huge octonauts fan and they have the different submersibles with a character for 15
currently trying to figure out which one to get though is a nightmare as she keeps changing her mind about her favourite character!

They had hobby horses in Toys R Us for about £10, really lovely and if you press the ears they make galloping/horse neigh sounds

LittleAlligator · 11/11/2015 20:06

Thanks, Kitty.
