When do your DC send the letter to Santa?

We had a chat recently about what they might like. I was lucky to pick up a few bits in the Argo 3 for 2 sale and have another couple of things earmarked (for payday!)
Basically I'm ahead of myself for the first time ever and I'd love them to send their letters now in case they start changing their minds! Is it too early?

We do "drafts" in Nov so the "final version" is ready to go up the chimney on Dec 1st. It goes in the fireplace at bedtime and magically whooshes up the chimney during the night. The elves (or whatever -bit vague on this bit) leave some "fairy dust" (glitter) in the fireplace.
I get advance notice of what DCs want and to keep their letters to FC, they get the excitement of the whole rigmarole. It's really the start of Christmas for us. I recommend it!

I didn't ask how old your DCs are, mine are 10 and 6, it might not work if yours are older!

They are 5 and 7. Yes we do the glitter fairy/elf dust too! I must usually do it in December, just dreading them making a big change now that I've got things sorted! I might bring it forward a few weeks Wink

Mine know that the main business is done by 1st Dec, any changes after that are extremely limited and subject to protracted negotiations with the North Pole team. So basically, don't get your hopes up!

I'm a bit loopy ;) but I get them to do them in the half term just gone... reason being I really do need to spread the cost, and time of planning Christmas, and in the past I've had them announcing things in early December and it's just not possible at that stage because I'm busy with work and doing plans for actually enjoying Christmas in any spare time, like food!

They are also aware that is isn't an order list... it's ideas and wishes, not guarantees. Mine are 9, 6, 6 this Christmas
